Facilities Engineer, InternLife Unlimited. At Smith+Nephew, we craft and manufacture technology that takes the limits off living.This role will exist within the Intern Program and is intended to attract top-performing undergraduate college students studying Mechanical & Electrical Engineering or similar disciplines. The role is meant to provide undergraduates with projects passionate about propelling Smith+Nephew forward while also advancing the students\' careers. When available, the program will provide interns with significant work experiences, team-building events, and social activities. Successful candidates for the intern position will gain valuable experience in the medical device industry, which could craft career decisions and build future employment opportunities.What will you be doing?Work closely with managers to complete specifically identified projects.Present project conclusions to senior leadership.Assist engineers with day-to-day facilities operations and equipment hook-ups according to Smith & Nephew standards.Understand mechanical and electrical installation methods and the testing and commissioning process.Participate in ad-hoc projects and perform other duties as assigned.What will you need to be successful?Candidates must be currently matriculated at an accredited university, majoring in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering or a similar field, and must be in excellent academic standing, with a GPA of 3.0 preferred. Fresh graduates or undergraduates undergoing industrial training are eligible to apply.Preferred candidates will have knowledge or experience with HVAC systems, cleanroom operations, and compressed dry air systems. They should be able to communicate optimally with internal and external team members, including vendors and contractors. High learning agility, the ability to analyze and synthesize data, independent thinking, and teamwork skills are essential. Additionally, candidates must be able to assess technical issues and develop solutions using an analytical approach to problem-solving.You.
