As a Facilities Engineer at TI, you\'ll be directly responsible for building utility systems in support of a semiconductor wafer fab. TI Facilities operates over 150 different utility systems that include chemicals, gasses, variety of electrical systems, water systems, HVAC, waste, vacuum, and controls. These systems are designed to run 24 hours a day, 365 days a year without interruption, creating a state of the art manufacturing environment. Facilities works closely with TI\'s manufacturing team to understand how the utility systems impact the process as well as how to reduce consumption.

Responsibilities include:

  • Industrial controls and instrumentation
  • Life safety systems (gas/chemical detection)
  • Electrical power monitoring and controls
  • SCADA and interconnected industrial LAN network
  • Variable Frequency Drive and Inverter
  • Controls system management including PLC (programmable logic controller), SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition), Facilities network, SCADA servers and process related temperature/humidity/pressure transmitters and flow meters etc.
  • PLC and SCADA programming and trouble shooting.
  • Collaborate with IT to maintain the servers and network.
Establish SFC (Statistical Factory Control) charts and publish for related engineers review. * Collaborate with related system engineers and operations to optimize alarm descriptions, priority and etc.
  • Develop and execute the controls project roadmap
  • Perform systems assessments and execute improvement roadmap
  • Execute capital and expense projects in support of safety, reliability, quality, environmental and cost objectives.
  • Provide and support Technician and Operator training
  • Respond quickly to system alarms and potentially critical situations, perform rapid and accurate situational assessments and troubleshoot system components
  • Manage CM\'s, PM\'s, Event Manager Tasks, and other work as required
  • Ensure all work complies with TI ESH and applicable codes and standards, including but not limited to work permits, building permits, confined space permits, and burn permits
  • Write a scope of work for bidding by a controls contractor and manage contractors
  • Develop and maintain SOP\'s and SOO\'s for systems that you own
  • Project Management responsibilities:
  • Coordinate with contractors, suppliers, and TI sustaining team(s) to complete controls scope for small to medium scale capital projects to meet safety, cost and schedule goals
  • Oversee design of small to medium-scale controls systems. Supervise third party design team to ensure design is comprehensive and completed within schedule requirements.
Provide construction administration and management including responding to submittals and request for information * Supervise third party controls programming resources (FAST Team) to ensure code is developed and tested within schedule requirements.
  • Manage controls scope budget and financial records. This will include ownership of project checkbook, change notices, procurement, purchase orders and purchase order maintenance, invoice tracking and capital forecasting and capitalization
  • Provide construction administration and management within operating manufacturing facilities
  • Complete projects safely and reliably with zero impact to customer operations
  • Strong communication and coordination skills to plan and execute projects seamlessly with customer\'s buy in thru completion
  • Successfully interface with customer organizations and maintain effective communications
  • Direct and execute project commissioning to ensure all controls and life safety software, systems, equipment, components and infrastructure perform as designed

Minimum requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Civil Engineering
  • Cumulative 3.0/4.0 GPA or higher
  • Bachelor\'s degree or above in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, industrial controls, automation, or equivalent engineering field
  • Less than 1 year of related experience
  • Basic experience with Semiconductor Facilities Controls Systems including PLC hardware, PLC programming and monitoring systems
  • Basic understanding with PLC (Siemens PLC S7-1200, S7-1500, S7-400) and Wonderware/Aveva Intouch
  • Basic understanding of PID loop tuning, Ladder/block programming, Trend Charts, Hardware Communication Concepts
  • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems operations and able to learn system operations and SCADA
  • Basic understanding on types of instruments used at TI, such as temperature, humidity, pressure, flow, RTD, transmitters; solenoid, modulating, electronic and pneumatic
  • Proficient to Microsoft Office software which include Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and AutoCAD.
  • Candidate must demonstrate strong safety leadership
