Job Summary :

The Facilities Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all electrical systems that support production and facility operations. This includes maintaining power distribution, machinery, and utility systems. The role involves managing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime, leading electrical projects and energy efficiency initiatives, and ensuring compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and regulatory standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Preventive & Corrective Maintenance

oDevelop and implement preventive maintenance plans for electrical systems and utilities, including lighting and backup power systems.

oLead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for electrical issues impacting production.

oCoordinate with production and maintenance teams to reduce downtime and improve equipment availability.

oEstablish and maintain contingency plans for power failures and electrical disruptions.

Electrical Infrastructure Design & Management

oOversee the design, operation, and upkeep of electrical infrastructure supporting plant operations.

oEnsure power distribution systems, transformers, switchgear, panels, and cabling meet operational and safety standards.

oPlan and execute electrical upgrades to support new machinery, automation, and process improvements.

Contractor & Vendor Management

oSupervise contractors performing electrical repair, maintenance, or renovation work to ensure quality and timely completion.

oReview quotations, assess vendor performance, and enforce service-level and safety requirements.

Health, Safety & Compliance

oEnsure all electrical installations comply with regulatory standards (e.g., IEEE, Suruhanjaya Tenaga/ST).

oConduct periodic inspections and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective measures.

oMaintain updated as-built drawings, testing reports, and maintenance documentation.

oEnforce electrical safety practices, including LOTO procedures.

oAct as a liaison between the plant, utility providers, and regulatory authorities on electrical matters.

Budgeting & Resource Planning

oAssist in preparing and monitoring annual maintenance budgets and identifying cost-efficient opportunities.

oManage inventory of electrical tools, spare parts, and materials to ensure continuous operational readiness.

Others

oSupport facility improvement initiatives and sustainability programs.

oMaintain 5S standards across HT rooms, substations, transformers, and generator areas.

oPerform additional tasks as assigned by the Facilities Manager or management.

Job Requirements :

oPossess a valid 11kV Chargeman license or equivalent certification.

oMinimum 7 years of hands-on experience in facilities or electrical maintenance management.

oDemonstrated leadership capability, with strong planning and coordination skills.

oExcellent problem-solving skills, with a practical, detail-oriented, and proactive working style.

oAble to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and operate effectively with minimal supervision.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM9,000.00 per month
