As we expand, we are looking for a proactive and hands-on Farm Manager to lead our farm team, optimize processes, and ensure smooth operations.This is a leadership role, overseeing a team of 10 farmers, where you'll balance hands-on work with management, reporting, and process improvements. The goal is to increase efficiency, productivity, and innovation in the way we farm.If you have experience in organic farming, team leadership, and process optimization, this is the perfect opportunity to make a real impact on a mission-driven farm.ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership & Performance Management

• Lead and manage a team of 10 farmers, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
• Define clear roles and responsibilities for each team member.
• Provide training, guidance, and support, ensuring the team understands and follows best farming practices.
• Conduct weekly meetings to set goals, track progress, and address any challenges.
• Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies within the team and develop strategies to improve productivity.

Task Delegation & Workflow Optimization

• Assign daily and weekly tasks based on the strengths and skills of each team member.
• Ensure all tasks, including planting, weeding, harvesting, and irrigation, are executed efficiently.
• Implement tracking systems to monitor team performance, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Regularly evaluate and refine farm workflows for better efficiency and sustainability.

Crop Planning & Rotation

• Develop and implement a strategic crop rotation plan to maintain soil health and maximize yield.
• Oversee 5 greenhouses and their planting beds, ensuring proper planning and execution.
• Create a detailed 3-6 month sowing and harvesting plan, keeping track of production cycles.
• Ensure that organic and sustainable farming practices are strictly followed.
• Work closely with the team to monitor soil conditions, pests, and crop health, implementing necessary interventions.

Harvest & Post-Harvest Handling

• Develop and manage harvest schedules to ensure maximum yield and minimal waste.
• Implement and enforce proper post-harvest handling, storage, and packaging to maintain produce quality.
• Work with the sales and distribution team to coordinate deliveries and market demand.

Soil Health, Pest Control & Fertilization

• Continuously monitor and assess soil health, ensuring IT remains nutrient-rich.
• Implement organic fertilization techniques, including composting and natural soil amendments.
• Lead the team in integrated pest management, using only organic-compliant methods.
• Innovate and test new soil enrichment techniques to improve farm sustainability.

Irrigation & Water Management

• Oversee the setup, execution, and efficiency of the irrigation system to ensure accurate and sufficient watering.
• Monitor soil moisture levels and adjust irrigation based on the specific needs of each crop.
• Prevent overwatering and underwatering by ensuring the system is properly calibrated and maintained.
• Lead and collaborate with the irrigation expert to research and implement improvements to water distribution.
• Regularly test and tweak irrigation methods to enhance efficiency, sustainability, and innovation.

Record-Keeping & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and detailed records of all farm activities, including:
• Planting and harvesting schedules
• Irrigation adjustments and effectiveness
• Composting and fertilization processes
• Pest control measures and outcomes
• Worker productivity and task completion
• Provide weekly reports to management, outlining farm performance, challenges, and process improvements.
• Use data and insights to propose solutions for increased productivity and efficiency.

Organic Certification Compliance

• Ensure all farming activities comply with organic certification standards.
• Maintain detailed records of all inputs, fertilizers, and pest control treatments.
• Implement best organic farming practices and train the team on compliance requirements.
