Job Description

Job Scope:

1. Research & Development (R&D)

Conduct research on fabric types, garment construction techniques, and design innovations suitable for factory workwear.
Test and evaluate materials (e.g., lightweight, quick-dry, anti-bacterial fabrics) for performance and practicality in factory environments.
Propose design enhancements based on wearer feedback, comfort studies, or production challenges.
Stay updated with trends in functional workwear and suggest improvements to existing collections.
2. Design & Concept Development

Collaborate with clients or internal teams to understand needs and objectives (e.g., modesty, functionality, and branding).
Develop design concepts that balance style, function, and cost.
Choose suitable fabrics, trims, and colors based on R&D insights.
3. Pattern Making (Pola Making)

Draft accurate custom patterns (pola) for various body types.
Adjust and improve patterns based on testing, R&D findings, and client feedback.
Ensure technical accuracy in all patterns including proper seam allowance, notches, and grain lines.
4. Sample Development

Oversee the creation of prototype garments for design approval.
Test prototypes for fit, comfort, ease of movement, and durability.
Revise designs and patterns based on feedback from clients, staff, or R&D tests.
5. Technical Documentation

Create comprehensive technical packs, including measurement charts, material specs, and pattern layout guides.
Document all design changes and R&D findings for future reference.
6. Production Coordination

Work with the production team to ensure accurate implementation of patterns and designs.
Solve issues related to fit, construction, or fabric handling during production.
7. Quality Control & Final Inspection

Perform quality checks on finished uniforms to ensure compliance with design, fit, and R&D expectations.
Recommend changes to improve production efficiency or garment performance.
Requirements:

Experience in fashion design and pattern making
Knowledge in R&D for textiles and garment performance is a strong advantage.
Proficient in manual pattern drafting and familiar with CAD pattern systems.
Creative, detail-oriented, and analytical with good problem-solving skills.
Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM1,900.00 - RM2,300.00 per month
