Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced and Independent Fiber Optic Technician/Splicer to support our 24/7 telecommunications operations. This role involves installing, splicing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic cable systems to ensure uninterrupted network connectivity. Candidates must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, on-call environment and responding to emergency outages at any hour.

Key Responsibilities:

*Perform fiber splicing (fusion/mechanical) in aerial and underground environments.

*Respond to service outages, alarms, and emergency calls 24/7, including weekends and holidays.

*Conduct OTDR and power meter testing to ensure fiber performance meets telecom industry standards.

*Interpret fiber schematics, splice documentation, and work orders accurately.

*Document splicing activity, test results, and maintenance logs in real-time systems.

*Coordinate with NOC (Network Operations Center), field teams, and subcontractors to meet service SLAs.

*Maintain a clean and organized splicing vehicle/equipment for rapid deployment.

Qualifications:

-Minimum 1-2 years of hands-on fiber optic splicing experience.

-Telecom industry experience strongly preferred.

-Proficient with fusion splicers, OTDRs, fiber identifiers, and related tools.

-Understanding of color codes, network architecture, and splicing schematics.

-Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently in high-pressure scenarios.

-Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

-Willingness to work on-call shifts, overnight shifts, and travel when necessary.

Physical & Work Requirements:

>Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.

>Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and access confined or elevated spaces.

>Must be able to work irregular hours and respond to emergency situations with minimal notice.
