Field Service Engineer

Join us as Field Service Engineer, where you will be executing service work according to agreed workflows and in accordance with ABB standard processes and safety guidelines and delivering excellent customer service to satisfy customers. You will be in close co-operation with customer and other ABB teams, taking actions to identify new service business opportunities for ABB in Electrification Business area. Reporting Service Manager and this position will be based in Selangor/Johor, Malaysia but require travelling & work outside of Malaysia like Asian Region, Offshore & etc.

Your responsibilities

• Performing medium to high complex service tasks like installation, commissioning, maintenance, upgrades and retrofits, repair independently, identifying technical problems and making analysis through remote or on-site activity in different service categories (installation and commissioning, maintenance, extensions, replacements, upgrades and retrofit, end of life service etc.)
• Ensuring customer satisfaction by executing service work according to customer order and expectation. Creating and maintaining a good relationship with customers and understanding their needs. Identifying new sales opportunities and taking influence in convincing the client for the complete service portfolio
• Coordinating, preparing and ensuring that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for service activities
• Preparing all documents and reporting to be signed by the customer representative. Reporting work done in a timely manner and follow up when needed
• Identifying potential equipment failures and proactive corrective actions. Troubleshooting complex equipment failure and making recommendations to avoid repeating the problem in the future
• Identifying suggestions for product, quality and customer service improvement and discusses them with management for changes
• Ensuring that HSE practices are of high standard. Working to eliminate unsafe practices and incidents. Consistently applies functional processes considering links to other teams

Your background

• Degree / Diploma in Engineering related disciplines with more than 5 years of experience in Automation & Controls Systems
• Good understanding of HMI, DCS, Scada, PLC, IT, OT, P&ID, Safety & automation systems
• Experience on Electrical Network Monitoring & Power Management Solutions will be preferred
• Preferable knowledge in ABB Automation Systems (800xA / Symphony S+). Knowledge on digital solutions like cyber security and Remote insights will be added advantage
• Experience in Maintenance / Testing & commissioning / FAT / SAT in Automation System
• Preferable working experience in Oil, Gas & Chemical plant/ Offshore/ Power & Water Industries
• Ability to travel without any restriction
