Role Overview

We are looking for a highly capable

Finance Director / Financial Controller

to join our team and support multiple fintech clients. This role combines

senior-level oversight

with

hands-on execution

, requiring someone confident in dealing with CEOs, boards, and investors, while also comfortable rolling up their sleeves to manage day-to-day finance tasks.

The ideal candidate will be trained in a

large practice (Big 4 or similar)

, with a strong technical foundation in accounting and audit, and proven experience in

Excel-based financial modelling and problem-solving

. Exposure to

international company structuring

and fintech environments is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Entity Formation & Governance

Register and maintain operating companies across jurisdictions. Oversee finance-related company secretarial matters. Manage cap tables and support investment structuring.

Financial Operations

Run monthly payroll, supplier payments, and expense management. Engage with vendors and manage procurement processes. Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate financial records.

FP&A & Reporting

Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models in Excel. Prepare management accounts and board/investor packs. Deliver insights to support decision-making and growth strategies.

Treasury Management

Produce and monitor cash flow forecasts. Optimise liquidity and working capital management across entities. Manage intercompany funding flows, FX exposure, and banking relationships.

Tax & Compliance

Manage tax registrations and compliance (Sales Tax, Payroll Taxes, R&D, Transfer Pricing). Ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Audit & Risk

Manage external audits, including multi-entity, multi-jurisdiction audits. Support client audits and due diligence reviews.

Candidate Profile

Essential

ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent), trained in a

large practice (Big 4 or Top 10)

. 6-10 years' finance experience across accounting, audit, and financial operations. Strong

Excel modelling and analytical problem-solving skills

. Comfortable working across both strategic and operational finance tasks. Excellent communication skills, able to engage directly with founders, boards, and investors. Based in Kuala Lumpur/Malaysia, willing to work UK business hours.

Desirable

Experience with

international company structuring and governance

. Exposure to

Fintech

or other regulated financial services sectors. Experience with cap table management, funding structures, and investor reporting.
