Job Description

Oversee the financial performance of the manufacturing operations in Malaysia, ensuring alignment with company objectives. Drive regional budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning. Collaborate with regional and company leadership to optimize cost structure and improve profitability.
2. Manufacturing Finance and Cost Control

Responsible for product cost accounting, bill of materials analysis, inventory valuation, and cost variance tracking for both the Malaysia and China operations. Collaborate with supply chain, engineering, and operations departments to manage cost drivers such as output, scrap rate, cycle time, and equipment utilization. Monitor and report on key plant KPIs; support initiatives aimed at improving productivity and reducing waste.
3. Financial Reporting and Compliance

Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in accordance with local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and internal policies. Ensure compliance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and other regulatory requirements. o Responsible for statutory audits and tax filings in Malaysia and China, and coordinating with auditors and tax authorities. Ensure compliance with Chinese tax laws, Malaysian Sales and Service Tax (SST), transfer commissioning, and cross-border reporting regulations.
4. Internal Control and Risk Management

Establish, monitor, and improve internal controls to ensure compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) and group audit requirements. Reduce financial and operational risks, including foreign exchange risk, credit risk, and supply chain disruption risk. Implement and monitor finance functions, including cash flow management, banking affairs, and repatriation plans.
5. Business Collaboration

Provide financial guidance to regional operations, R&D, and sales teams. Utilize Return on Investment (ROI) and Net Present Value (NPV) analysis to evaluate capital investments (e.g., factory expansion, equipment upgrades). Provide support to the sales team in pricing models, rebate structures, and contract evaluation.
6. Team Management and Development

Lead and develop the finance team in Malaysia, ensuring efficient, compliant, and aligned operations with the global finance strategy. Drive continuous improvement, digital transformation, and operational excellence.
7. Investor Relations and Stakeholder Communication

Act as the primary contact person for the joint venture partner and report financial performance at joint venture board meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA or Master's degree preferred. Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), or equivalent qualification Over 10 years of finance experience in the manufacturing or high-tech industry, including 3-5 years in a senior finance leadership or CFO position. Experience in cross-border operations management, with preference given to candidates with semiconductor industry experience. Proficient in cost accounting, inventory management, capital expenditure control, and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle). In-depth understanding of the regulatory frameworks of China and Malaysia (taxation, auditing, statutory reporting, foreign exchange controls). Experience in liaising with the Malaysian government and local banks is required.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications

Experience in wafer fabrication, OSAT, or fabless semiconductor manufacturing models. Fluent in English and Mandarin (spoken and written); Malay proficiency is preferred. Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of effectively influencing stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds. Willingness to travel between Malaysia and China as needed for the work location.
