The Finance Manager will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, playing a critical role in achieving the company's Vision & Mission. This role requires strong financial leadership, operational oversight, and strategic financial planning to ensure the smooth running of the company's financial and accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Leadership & Team Management:
Lead and manage the Finance & Accounts team, overseeing all financial activities and ensuring alignment with the company's goals.
Conduct daily briefings with the finance team to ensure smooth operations and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Provide leadership and mentorship, conducting performance appraisals and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
2) Financial Operations Management:
Oversee daily financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate billing, payments, and collections in Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP).
Verify and approve product costing, ensuring accuracy and alignment with company objectives.
Review and approve key financial documents such as payment vouchers, journal vouchers, invoices, and legal agreements.
Ensure proper recording of accruals, rental, wages, deposits, prepayments, and insurance in the system.
3) Reporting & Analysis:
Prepare and present monthly financial reports.
Review and approve monthly bank reconciliations and journal entries (e.g., depreciation, wages, salaries).
Prepare and review Budget vs. Actual reports and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports for management and Heads of Departments (HODs).
Perform weekly reviews of cash flow, customer aging, and outlet cash bank-in reports.
4) Strategic Financial Planning:
Assist in the preparation and compilation of the company's annual budget, ensuring alignment with financial targets and business goals.
Set KPIs for the next financial year and monitor progress against them.
Provide strategic insights and financial analysis to the CEO and senior management to guide business decisions.
5) Compliance & Taxation:
Ensure timely submission and filing of SST, E-Invoicing and other tax-related matters.
Prepare and submit CP204 for tax purposes and manage tax returns to the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).
Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretaries, bankers, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
6) Audits & External Relations:
Coordinate and review audit requirements, ensuring the accurate preparation of audit listings.
Collaborate with external auditors during stock take and year-end financial audits.
Maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders including banks and financial institutions
7) Ad Hoc Duties:
Perform any other related duties or ad-hoc assignments as directed by the CEO to support overall business objectives.
Weekly Responsibilities:
Review cash flow and customer aging reports with the Assistant Accountant.
Approve weekly payment cycles and monitor financial transactions.
Update Work in Progress (WIP) reports and ensure financial accuracy.
Monthly Responsibilities:
Oversee the preparation of monthly financial reports and discuss findings with management.
Approve key financial transactions, including journals for depreciation, wages, and other expenses.
Submit SST filings and monitor financial compliance.
Yearly Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation and review of the company's annual budget and financial KPIs.
Ensure smooth coordination with auditors and regulatory bodies for yearly audits and compliance.
Assist in stock take procedures with auditors and oversee year-end financial reporting.
Requirement
Minimum 3+ years of experience in a financial leadership role, preferably within a multi-entity organization.
Have attended e-invoicing course will be an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of financial management, reporting, budgeting, and compliance.
Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide senior management.
5 days a week, 8:30am - 6pm
