:SUMMARY OF POSITIONThis role handles Accounts Payable function that supports the company operations in multiple regions globally under a good system of internal controls. Need an Accounting/Finance degree. Minimum three years of relevant working experience preferably from a Shared Services. Experience working in Oracle work environment. A good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and good analytical skills are also required.Responsibilities:CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKSTransition Activities

  • Ensure all transition activities are carried out in accordance with project timelines.
  • Prepare and update work procedures and training materials.
  • Conduct training for junior and new team members.
  • Perform work shadowing and ensure tasks and work steps are documented correctly.
  • Identify and close any system and knowledge gaps prior to go live
Operations
  • Process and post vendor invoices & intercompany invoices in accordance with established processes and work procedures and in compliance with company policies, Sarbannes Oxley (SOX), legal and statutory requirements.
  • Perform control checks and ensure all transactions are approved and processed completely, accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with SLAs and KPIs.
  • Perform payment runs and ensure payments are approved and processed accurately and timely in accordance with payment schedule.
  • Liaise with Local Company Controller on cash flow requirements and foreign currency requirements (if any) to meet payment needs.
  • Perform item clearing in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform month end Accounts Payables closing related tasks. Ensure month end close tasks are executed accurately and in accordance with month end close timelines and work procedures.
  • Perform intercompany balance confirmation in accordance with corporate guidelines.
  • Perform monthly vendor statement and intercompany statement reconciliations and follow up on unreconciled items in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and submit Accounts Payables reports in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform VAT/GST calculations and postings and submit VAT/GST reports in a timely manner.
  • Liaise with local company and vendors to resolve issues in a timely manner.
  • Attend to queries and ensure timely resolution. Escalate unresolved issues in a timely manner.
  • Identify, recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives in consultation with Team Lead and Supervisor.
  • Assist in process improvements and project implementation initiatives
  • Support new and junior team members through proper knowledge transfer, sharing of resources, knowledge and experience.
  • Assist in preparing and updating work procedures and training materials, when required.
  • Assist and support internal and statutory audits.
  • Perform such other tasks as required by Team Lead or Supervisor.
TECHNICAL, MANAGERIAL OR OTHER PROBLEMS * Must manage the workload and priorities to meet performance goals set.
  • Communication skills are required to effectively work with people throughout the region.
  • An in-depth knowledge of applicable Oracle system modules must be acquired in order to carry out the tasks assigned.
  • Must learn, understand company policies and procedures.
  • Must have a solid understanding of accounting methods and procedures in order to ensure duties are performed correctly and efficiently.
DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY
  • Independence in planning own position activities around agreed upon performance goals related to the Kuala Lumpur Shared Services Center.
  • Effectively supports the team in their focus to streamline processes and reduce rework.
  • Recommends improvements for his or her own job.
CONTACTS INSIDE/OUTSIDE ORGANIZATION
  • This position will be in contact with corporate and Local Finance Department personnel throughout the region. This will include employees in other shared services centers and personnel at various levels within operating divisions.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Reviews and supports internal control procedures that are in place and are working effectively to assure the proper safeguarding of company\'s assets, suggesting changes to these procedures as necessary if conditions change.
  • Acquires and maintains a strong understanding of Oracle modules and related computer systems in addition to an understanding of company operations and requirements in various parts of the world.
  • Performs financial functions with a knowledge of the appropriate GAAP, whether IFRS or country specific GAAP.
  • Promotes an attitude of customer service by ensuring that issues and problems within duties performed by their team are recorded, monitored and resolved in a timely manner.
  • Ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial records properly reflect the actual operations of the company.
Qualifications:FORMAL EDUCATION:
  • Formal Education:
Candidate must possess at least a Professional Certificate, Diploma, Advance/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor\'s Degree.KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working in Oracle work environment. A good knowledge of Microsoft Excel and good analytical skills are also required.

  • Good communications skills with a good command of English
  • Computer literate and competent in Microsoft office
  • Self Motivated and able to work independently.
  • Good attitude and willing to learn.
TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: * Experience working with accounting software\'s
  • Resourceful and with good problem solving skills
  • Excellent communications and organizational skills are required.
  • Must be knowledgeable in computer systems (Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, Power Point, and Access)
