Client Background: Leading industrial construction company in Singapore with significant presence in Malaysia. Industry: Construction Location: Selangor Headcount: 1 Tenure: Permanent Remuneration: Basic + Medical benefits Responsibilities: Oversee an accounting team on the preparation of periodic financial statements for statutory reporting, and management reporting. Analyse and review the financial performance of the business comparing actual results against budget and prior year. Lead in the preparation of budget and forecast of the business, incorporating key business and economic drivers. Review project performance for project delays, liquidated damages, cost overruns, foreseeable losses, recoveries, margin deterioration and improvements. Review both clients\' and sub-contractors\' financial standings for their abilities to undertake contractual obligations, which will include timely payments, performance bonds issuance, and cost overruns arising from delay. Liaise and negotiate with financial Institutions to raise working capital funds and Bankers\' Guarantee for performance bonds, including reviewing financing terms and conditions for risk and obligations. Manage and forecast project cash flow requirement to ensure sufficiency, expedite collection, manage payment and initiate capital call. Review and identify control weakness in work processes, initiate and implement new controls and ensure controls are strictly adhere to. Liaise with external auditors, tax authorities and other government agencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Participate in any ad hoc projects assigned, including system set up, climate and sustainability reporting M&A and Due Diligence. Requirements: CA or CPA qualified with at least 10 years of relevant experience with preference for experience in construction industry. Proficient in local and international accounting standards including a good understanding and working knowledge of accounting for construction projects. Self-starter with strong communication and presentation skills. Hands on and comfortable working in a fast growing and entrepreneurial environment.
