Job Description


The Financial Planning & Analysis function is a key member of the Finance team. Their function is to work across the Cycle & Carriage group of companies to drive profitability and OPEX at group and individual branch level for the Retail Sales Business Unit. The role additionally holds responsibility for monitoring and reporting capex spend, working closely with the Procurement function and other Functional Stakeholders. Other tasks may include: Liaise, influence and coordinate with stakeholders through various committees to achieve profitability direction for the group. Assistance in budget and forecast processes regarding margin, capex or cost relevant topics for the Retail Sales Division. Identify of areas for optimization in cost, capex or profit to achieve KPIs. Analyze and partner with Retail Sales Stakeholders, acting as a finance business partner KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Margin Controlling Implement relevant margin analysis and reporting across for retail stakeholders following Group reporting definitions as required. Propose alternative internal KPIs where necessary. Monitor, analyze and prepare reports on actuals and budgets of margins across the Retail Sales and Aftersales Business unit. Develop, implement and chair monthly Product and Pricing Committee. Propose model pricing, mix, commissions and product development prior to go-live or implementation. Lead monthly Gap Review meeting. Identify gaps to profitability on branch and group level versus agreed upon Budgets or Targets as set out in Stock Provisioning, Product and Pricing Committees. Propose remediation measures as necessary. Hold discussion, persuade and influence Dealer Principals prior to Gap Review to achieve margin targets. Propose applicable discount amounts in the Pricing Committee to ensure margin and volume achievements in line with budget or otherwise. Partner with the Retail Sales and Aftersales Business Units, providing support in relation to new initiatives, promotions and product schemes covering margin topics,. Ensure relevant operational financial control in order to ensure correct reporting. Support and engage with the Principal working team on margin reporting and cost optimisation topics Cost Controlling Monitor and report on cost actuals and budget across the organization. Act as the focal point for cost consolidation during the budget process. Advise Functional Stakeholders on their cost positions and budgets. Implement monthly cost reporting for stakeholders, including Head Office. Communicate and analyse as necessary. Work closely with Functional Stakeholders to identify and optimize costs. Present cost positions to Business Unit Leadership Team, tracking cost relevant KPIs in accordance with group definitions. Align ERP mapping for costs across legal entities. Develop mapping catalogue for booking of actuals. Develop, implement and communicate Cost Allocation key for Interest Expense, Rental expense, Management Fee and other Head Office functions into Retail Sales and Aftersales business units CAPEX Controlling Draft and own Capex policy. Revise yearly and ensure policy compliance across Cycle & Carriage group of companies. Perform communication and training of policy within the organization. Identify, engage and train capex coordinators within the Business Units. Work closely with capex coordinators to pre-align and receive feedback on proposed changes in policy and process. Monitor and report on actuals and budget of capex. Prepare and coordinate the budgeting process for capex spending. Identify areas for capex optimization and flexibility, as and when required. Develop, Implement and lead capex committee. Present capex actuals, budgets, trends and ongoing work. Work closely with the Corporate Real Estate and Procurement function to ensure governance of capex spending and policy. Budget & Forecast Process Lead Budget and Latest Forecast exercises for for Retail Sales and Aftersales relating to margin, opex and capex. Work closely Functional Stakeholders to influence, liaise, communicate and operationalize targets. Prepare, align and submit annual budgeting and forecasting submissions to Jardine Cycle & Carriage counterparts. Align relevant regional projects, budgets and cost allocation methods. Answer and liaise with relevant Functional Stakeholders to clarify questions about actuals, budgets and queries of a similar nature. Prepare relevant material, presentations and outcomes for analysis and discussion with Functional Stakeholders and Leadership Team KEY REQUIREMENTS Possess Degree / Professional Certification in Finance or equivalent Strong financial analysis, planning or reporting background, with emphasis on stakeholder engagement and influence. Possess min 10 years of finance experience in a progressively growing capacity, preferably the last 2-3 years focusing primarily in the FP&A area. Strong leadership, with min 2-3 years of direct or indirect exposure Technically competent in analysis methods, visualization tools and technology.
