Job Description

In this role, you will be reporting to the IT Manager in Malaysia, and with a functional reporting to the Fleet IT Operations Manager.

You will be responsible for managing IT operations and ensuring the seamless delivery of IT services across the vessels. This includes overseeing IT infrastructure, workplace systems, networks, and servers, ensuring optimal reliability, security, and efficiency onboard vessels.

As a Fleet IT Technical Expert, you will lead the implementation of new IT solutions for newly built vessels, collaborating with global IT teams to support technological advancements. Additionally, you will work closely with Cybersecurity and SOC teams to manage shipboard threats and vulnerabilities, securing all fleet endpoints and ensuring compliance with Maritime Cyber Security regulations.

You will also play a key role in disaster recovery exercises and IT resilience strategies. This position requires a proactive problem solver with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to driving IT innovation and security in the maritime industry.

Main Responsibilities:

Manage daily IT operations and oversee shipboard IT project implementation in line with IT Governance Standards and Cyber Security guidelines. Support vessel applications and IT systems, ensuring smooth operations. Maintain and enforce Fleet IT Security policies onboard vessels. Roll out IT systems and vessel applications across fleet. Work with third party service providers to manage IT system upkeep on vessels. Contribute to IT roadmap development and maintain cybersecurity, backup, and monitoring processes. Manage IT inventory, lifecycle management, and maintain technical documentation for shipboard systems. Create and maintain technical documentation and procedures for shipboard software and system maintenance. Occasional ship boarding may be necessary to support fleet IT operations.
Minimum Requirements

Strong knowledge of workplace systems, network infrastructure, and IT operations. Proficiency in Windows configurations, administration, and issue resolution. Proven experience in planning, executing, and deploying IT projects successfully. Certifications & Experience - ITIL certification required; minimum 5 years of relevant IT experience. Ability to perform under pressure and manage 24/7 availability if needed. Excellent interpersonal skills with fluency in English (written & spoken). Expertise in backup solutions, cybersecurity, and system maintenance. Understanding of cyber risk management, Maritime regulations, and emerging technologies

Pay: RM1,453.33 - RM8,303.12 per month
