We create sustainable cloud & web application solutions for specific BASF needs

Our international DevOps team provides application development services for individual web and cloud applications, tailor-made for specific business needs of our internal business partners. Our service covers consulting and requirements analysis, application design and implementation and ongoing support based on individual service agreements with our business partners. The range of our solutions is from small low-budget applications up to enterprise grade solutions. For our modern applications we use state-of-the-art frameworks, which allows for rapid development simultaneously enables easy product upgrades during the later ongoing phase. With our applied Development & QA-process we ensure highest coding standards and constantly high code quality. Our tailored web-applications run on virtually any device and can be hosted on premise & in cloud environments like Microsoft Azure and AWS. In addition, we support and modernize several legacy applications which are based on older Java versions and frameworks. In this role, you will be part of an international DevOps team and take over responsibility in all parts of the application lifecycle, including consulting of internal customers/ business partners, design, and development of digital solutions as well as ongoing support of existing applications. We are working with an agile setup, e.g. in SCRUM Projects for the development of new software solutions or usage of KANBAN Boards to facilitate the service for applications in our support. We expect you to be familiar with the common agile tools and processes and to be able to act as a valuable part of such agile teams. Additionally, you will be part of a developer community to define Best Practices and evaluate new methods and technologies.

Responsibilities and Key Outcomes

• Understand and clarify the business requirements for new software or updates.
• Design, build, and test sophisticated front-end solutions for our internal customers.
• Design user interfaces that are easy to navigate and comply with accessibility standards.
• Actively contribute to team meetings including sprint planning, daily stand-up, sprint review and retrospectives.
• Work with different product teams according to the technical requirements specified by our customers.
• Leverage CI/CD practices to automate the process of delivering software.
• Develop software in line with defined quality benchmarks and industry best practices.
• Share technical solutions and their advantages with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Collaborate with support teams to troubleshoot problems and implement necessary adjustments.

Job Requirements

Education and Work Experience

• Degree in Computer Science, informatics, business informatics or in a comparable field
• Minimum 5 years\' related working experience

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Mandatory)

• Knowledge in Web technologies including HTML5 and JavaScript.
• Knowledge in Java ServerFaces (JSF, PrimeFaces)
• Knowledge in CSS3 and extensions like SCSS
• Understanding of Web technology landscape.
• Professional knowledge of Java programming, specializing in versions Java 8 and above.
• Professional knowledge of persistence technologies, specifically JPA2 and Hibernate.
• Competence in both unit testing for JavaScript and Java.
• Understanding of integration testing.
• Knowledge in concepts of test automation, encompassing both unit and integration testing.
• Familiarity with SQL databases and data querying.
• Knowledge of Microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of cloud architectures with emphasis on REST-based paradigms.
• Familiarity with dependency management, particularly using Maven.
• Expertise in Agile methodologies, encompassing Scrum and Kanban.
• Basic proficiency in Agile tools including JIRA, Confluence, GIT/Bitbucket, and Jenkins/Bamboo.
• Basic knowledge of Containerization employing Docker and Kubernetes.
• Fluent in English.

Technical & Professional Knowledge (Additional Plus/Nice to Have Skills)

• Knowledge JavaScript frameworks (Vue.js, TypeScript)
• Knowledge in common JavaScript tools (e.g. Node.js, npm, babel)
• Knowledge in IDE JetBrains IntelliJ, IDE MS Code
• Knowledge in No-SQL databases
• Knowledge in Kafka
• Knowledge in Azure services
• Knowledge in regression testing
• WCAG 2.1
