Job responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

Lead and mentor a backend engineering team, providing guidance on architecture, code quality, and professional development. Collaborate with production, design, and LiveOps teams to align backend priorities with project and business objectives. Establish and enforce best practices, coding standards, and scalable workflows.

System Architecture & Scalability

Design and implement cloud-native backend systems leveraging AWS services (EKS, Redis, Aurora PostgreSQL, S3, SQS, CloudWatch, ALB, ECR). Architect modular, service-oriented systems for accounts, leaderboards, monetization, IAP, missions, analytics, and progression. Ensure secure, reliable, and efficient backend operations, including database migrations and housekeeping processes.

LiveOps & Operational Excellence

Develop LiveOps dashboards and admin tools for real-time game management and analytics. Automated monitoring and recovery workflows to achieve 99.9% uptime, ensuring seamless seasonal events and updates. Created rollback and hotfix processes to minimize downtime during major content releases.

Strategic Decision-Making & Stakeholder Collaboration

Assess and recommend backend technologies and third-party solutions where appropriate. Partner with game designers and product managers to deliver scalable backend support for gameplay features. Serve as the technical bridge between backend, DevOps, and client teams.

DevOps & CI/CD Automation

Implemented fully automated CI/CD pipelines (Docker and Jenkins), enabling smooth multi-region backend deployments. Built CDN-powered infrastructure for efficient game asset delivery and low-latency matchmaking. Integrated analytics platforms for live service optimization.

Job requirements

Minimum 8 years of backend development experience, including 3 years in a leadership role would be added advantage. Experience in core tech stack: Cloud & Infrastructure: AWS (EKS, S3, SQS, Aurora PostgreSQL, CloudWatch, ALB, ECR) Backend Frameworks: NestJS, Spring Boot Frontend (Tools & Dashboards): Angular DevOps & CI/CD: Docker, Jenkins Caching & Messaging: Redis Analytics: Google Analytics, Devtodev Web3/Blockchain: Ethereum, BSC, Polygon, Solana Strong knowledge of system security, database migrations, and multi-region deployments. Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Desirable

Experience with game backend development for PvP, PvE, or LiveOps. Understanding of Web3, blockchain, and smart contract integration. Experience developing internal tools (e.g., Angular, React). Passion for gaming and live service environments
