General Ledger Team Lead

Job Description


We are seeking an experienced General Ledger (GL) Team Lead to oversee and manage the GL operations within our shared services center. The ideal candidate will lead a team of 5-10 accountants, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting, while also collaborating with cross-functional teams. SAP experience is mandatory, and candidates must be a certified accountant (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent).

  • Lead and supervise the General Ledger team in the daily, monthly, and annual financial closing activities.
  • Manage and monitor the accurate recording of all financial transactions to ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
  • Perform detailed reviews of balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reports.
  • Ensure timely completion of month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Review VAT netting & settlement entries by accountants/analysts.
  • Drive continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors and manage audit requirements and queries.
  • Collaborate closely with other finance functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and FP&A teams.
  • Prepare periodic reports for senior management and provide insights on GL performance.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the GL team to ensure high performance and career growth.

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is a must.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in General Ledger, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Prior experience working in a shared service environment is highly desirable.
  • Must have SAP ERP experience with strong knowledge of SAP FI/CO modules.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, including IFRS and GAAP.
  • Fluency in Chinese is essential to support regional operations, and multilingual capabilities are preferred due to the need to interact with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
