Job Description


As the GL Team Lead, you will lead a team responsible for managing the general ledger activities for the company international operations. The team will operate as a virtual accounting department, closely interacting with local auditors, tax consultants, and banks. Your expertise will be essential in understanding local tax regulations, making informed decisions, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for different region within APAC.

  • Lead and manage the GL team\'s day-to-day operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with local tax consultants, auditors, and banks to understand the unique tax and financial requirements of each country\'s operations.
  • Develop a deep understanding of local tax regulations and accounting principles to guide decision-making and ensure compliance.
  • Apply your accounting acumen and "common sense" to assess inputs from local consultants and banks, making informed judgments to support accurate financial reporting.
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with applicable GAAP and local regulations.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects to enhance financial processes, system implementations, and reporting accuracy.

  • Bachelor\'s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or Chartered Accountant designation preferred.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on general ledger activities and financial reporting.
  • Prior experience in a Big 4 accounting firm is highly preferred, demonstrating a strong foundation in accounting principles and standards.
  • Excellent understanding of international tax regulations and the ability to interpret their implications on financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound judgments based on limited information.
  • Exceptional communication skills to liaise effectively with local tax consultants, auditors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse team to achieve high-quality results.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems; advanced Excel skills are a plus.
