Job description

My client is a renowned Bitumen import, storage and distribution company. They are looking for a General Manager to lead operations in their Depot in Sarawak. It will be a 2 year contract position with contract renewal/ permanent role possibilities.

• The Head of the Company is responsible for overseeing and managing the Company\'s operations, reporting directly to the Board of Directors or as designated by the Board.
• Directing day-to-day operations, making decisions across various aspects such as sales, marketing, operations, finance, accounts, and human resources.
• Exercising control over the management of the Company\'s assets.
• Negotiating, recommending, and presenting to the Board of Directors any significant contracts the Company intends to enter.
• Developing and executing effective strategies to meet the Company\'s Key Performance Indicators and Balanced Score Card.
• Ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of the Company, with a focus on strict adherence to operational processes and product specifications to maintain high product quality.
• Establishing and implementing company policies and procedures.
• Handling matters related to employment, staff motivation, and maintaining a safe work environment.
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) regulations and laws pertaining to the Company\'s operations.

Requirements

• Preferably someone with a strong background in oil and gas trading, particularly in fuel oil/bitumen.
• Strong business acumen, financial control, and an understanding of cash flow are essential.
• Familiarity with corporate governance and overall responsibility for the sales and profitability of the company is crucial.
• Senior Manager-level candidates and above are welcome to apply.
