An exciting General Manager position has just been made available in one of the most renowned Wood-Joining Company. Reporting directly to the Regional GM, the suitable candidate shall be an experienced General Manager/Director/Head of Operations from the Wood/Building Materials/ Interior Design Materials organizations executing the following responsibilities

Job Purpose

Lead, oversee, strategize, manage, and ensure the efficient allocation of resources (physical, human, and financial), with the goal of making significant contributions to the vision, mission, objectives, and business plans.

Primary Responsibilities * People and Culture: Foster a culture that aligns employees\' actions, emphasizing safety, ethics, employee development, customer-centric innovation, commitment fulfillment, and continuous improvement. Cultivate and nurture a high-performing team that consistently meets or surpasses performance standards in all aspects of their roles.

  • Financial Performance: Achieve all annual financial targets for the Unit, ultimately exceeding shareholder expectations.
  • Customer Service: Enhance customer loyalty and increase sales by delivering top-notch customer service and innovative sales solutions.
  • Operations: Efficiently manage all business functions through a capable Unit Management Team to ensure effective business operations, optimal resource utilization, and the fulfillment of customer commitments, while striving to meet both short-term and long-term objectives.
  • Business Development: Continuously enhance and adapt the business in alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Systems and Controls: Safeguard the company\'s financial and physical assets by implementing efficient and accurate administrative, information system, and process controls.
  • Personal Development: Invest in professional growth and job effectiveness through participation in educational programs and skill-based training.
To succeed in the position, you will need to have the ability to work effectively and co-operatively with cross-functional departments:

Qualifications and Skills
  • Operational Management: Proven experience in leading, organizing, planning, and controlling operational units to achieve business objectives and deliver exceptional customer experiences. Demonstrates a strategic focus and the ability to identify and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Financial Business Acumen: Possesses a strong understanding of financial concepts, including financial statements, KPIs, cash flow management, pricing, costing, inventory management, and budgeting. Able to use financial information to make informed decisions and take corrective actions when necessary.
  • Sales and Selling: Proven track record in managing relationships with key customers, consultative selling, negotiation, and understanding market dynamics.
  • Technical/Industry Experience: Familiarity with high-volume made-to-order products, fit and install markets, and core business activities like lean manufacturing, capacity planning, procurement, logistics, and installations. Understanding of building processes and industry knowledge.
  • Systems and Processes: Solid grasp of business information systems and tools to monitor, measure, manage, and analyze business operations. Uses technology effectively and ensures processes are efficient.
