The Role: Geoscience Technical Advisor

The Team: This role is pivotal to the success of the wider geoscience team, you will be working daily hand-in-hand with other Technical Advisors, SMEs, Account Managers, Technical Support and the software development team servicing our clients across EMEA.

The Impact: Technical pre-sales focused on selling a suite of geoscience software applications to the Upstream E&P and Offshore Wind markets. Main objective is to drive revenue by technically illustrating how our geoscience solutions help our customers improve efficiencies in technical workflows, while reducing cycle times and costs.

Develop the use of cutting edge analytics on geoscience data.

Responsibilities:
Work with Energy Account Managers and Sales Specialists to assess how S&P Global\'s Geoscience products can benefit an account so the rep can pursue new revenue with a prospect or existing customer

Prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions

Play a key role in working with the sales team to ensure that each account is well supported, both pre-sale for new revenue and post-sale for revenue protection

Make technical sales presentations and product demonstrations of supported software applications at the client sites, S&P offices, industry conventions, user meetings, as well as other events as needed

Provide compelling customer facing technical presentations and demonstrations to illustrate how S&P Global\'s geoscience products bring value and solve workflow deficiencies from competitive products

Continue to develop technical skills relating to supported software applications and general geoscience knowledge as it relates to the E&P and Wind industry, and technical discipline in order to improve customer adoption with existing customers and increase net new sales with prospects

What We\xe2\x80\x99re Looking For:
Required Education:
Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree required, Masters preferred in a geoscience discipline, i.e. Geology, Geophysics, or Petrophysics

Required Experience:
Minimum of 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in a similar position or 7 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience as a geoscientist.

Other Skills:
This is a customer-facing role and requires a strong background in customer interaction, customer support, and training/teaching.

Strong presentation skills and ability to present to large and small audiences is required.

Experience working with seismic, well and log data would be very helpful, knowledge on different datums and projection systems in their usage.

Strong general GIS and analytical skills are a benefit, as are an understanding of scripting languages such as Python or R.

Travel Requirements:
Must be able to travel 25% of the time and carry laptops, computers and other equipment as necessary.
