About the role
Ikon Science is looking for a Geoscientist to join our Kuala Lumpur team. The main responsibilities are the execution and timely delivery of high quality quantitative seismic interpretation services as part of an integrated project workflow using RokDoc technology.

Quantitative Interpretation of seismic encompasses Geophysics, Petrophysics, Geology and Reservoir Engineering disciplines. Activities include: deriving reservoir properties from seismic data using various techniques such as seismic inversion and AVO analysis, and integration with other geophysical techniques such as Geopressure and Geomechanics. Requirement

• Working independently or as part of a team to complete and deliver Integrated Quantitative Interpretation projects to client requirements, to a high technical standard, whilst also working to tight deadlines.
• Liaising with Project manager and internal/external clients.
• Delivering high quality presentations and reports to internal/external clients.
• Actively promoting and selling Ikon Science services and software.
• Assisting with the testing of Ikon Science software.
• Maintenance of project database.
• Seismic analysis QC, conditioning and interpretation.
• Perform seismic inversion for reservoir characterisation.
• Conduct internal and external training courses.
• Write and present technical papers.

• Extensive experience as a geophysicist/interpreter
• Extensive experience as a Quantitative Interpreter or Rock Physicist.
• Knowledge of theory and experience in the application of Rock Physics, AVO and Inversion for seismic reservoir characterisation.
• Working knowledge and understanding of regional geology, geophysics, petrophysics and basic reservoir engineering concepts.
• Some experience with Seismic Acquisition, Seismic Data Processing, Potential Field Methods and Reservoir characterisation is preferred.
• Experience with Python is advantageous
  

• BSc or MSc (or higher) in Geosciences, Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or any other analytical discipline.

• Working knowledge and understanding of: regional geology, geophysics, geostatistics, petrophysics and basic reservoir engineering concepts
• Experience and/or knowledge of seismic characterization of both conventional reservoirs and unconventional resource plays
• Track record of technical papers will be taken into consideration.
• Knowledge of Ikon Science software, or, relevant industry equivalent software advantageous
