Our client is a Multinational Company and a top leader in its respective industry. Being a public listed MNC with over billions of revenues, they invest massive resources into their staff training programme to develop their people from the ground. They have roles available for a range of junior to senior General ledger Accountant - Japanese Speaker.

Job description:

• Perform end-to-end general ledger task and financial close activities such as posting of journals and support monthly/quarterly/annual close processes.
• Touches on payroll task, including payroll processing & statutory reporting requirements, input of manual pay items, reimbursement & salary compensation calculations.
• Familiar with the end to end payroll process, regulation, tax law, statutory requirements and processes in Japan
• Maintain accounting records including data entry of complete and accurate data for day to day business transactions.
• Responsible for completeness, accuracy and timeliness of operations in the general ledger, fixed asset and intercompany accounts, as well as treasury transactions and bank reconciliations.
• Assist in decision support and financial analysis for the management to identify opportunities to improve the company's financial and operational performance.
• Planning & coordinating with finance & business operation teams on financial data & report, transacting accounting entries, ensuring completeness & timeliness of entries booking.
• Involvement in internal control and audit compliance & other internal/ external audit requirements
• Conduct team performance review, deliver training to team member as requested and assist with the induction of new team members to ensure understanding of activities and responsibilities.

Skills and experience required:

• At least 2-8 years of experience in GL accounting scope and/or relevant academic background in bachelor's degree in Finance / Accounting or any professional qualification.
• Excellent English and Japanese (speak, read and write) communication skills
• Possesses excellent attention to detail, self-starter, quick learner, independent and team player with ability to drive initiatives and change
• Strong working knowledge on ERP SAP and Microsoft Office application particularly Excel and Words
