Commodity Management within Materials and Procurement develops and implements plans to support forecasted needs for suppliers or commodities. We use our in-depth knowledge of foreign and domestic markets to negotiate supplier agreements and contracts with optimum pricing and terms. We also harness our understanding of commodity qualities, transportation options, risk management and supply chain evaluation models to develop optimal commodity management strategies. What you\xe2\x80\x99ll achieve Tracks new technology development for assigned products/suppliers. Drives alignment between Supplier roadmaps and Dell line of business roadmaps. Negotiates product cost and contracts as appropriate. Drives suppliers to improve their scorecard performance. You will:

• Formulate strategies and Implement Dell initiatives with supply base as required.
• Reports commodity and supplier performance on a monthly basis.
• Identifies opportunities for supply chain optimization and implements as appropriate.
• Identifies suppliers that provide relevant technology for products.
• Identifies cost targets for relevant roadmap products.

• With limited direction, organizes or leads cross-functional commodity team and drives commodity metrics, strategies and objectives while conducting risk analysis and recommending mitigation strategies
• Develops and gains business buy in for complex RFQ (request for quotation) in addition to making supply chain optimization recommendations, participates in post-mortem analysis and process updates to support new products
• Drives resolutions for issues within the supplier and negotiates product cost and contracts, involving Senior Management as appropriate
• Tracks and monitors new technology development and supports supplier integration with organization strategy
• Responsible to develop and maintain contact and build relationships with key suppliers

Desirable Requirements

• Typically requires 12+ years of related experience with a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree; or 8+ years with a Master\xe2\x80\x99s degree; or 5+ years with a PhD; or equivalent experience
