ROLE SUMMARY

What are the key objectives and expectations from this role?

This role is addressed to a seasoned professional who can lead a team of Global Mobility Services Partners in executing seamless global mobility programs, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and enhancing the overall employee experience during international assignments. The role is responsible for managing a team of Global Mobility Services Partners.

What is the direct impact of this role on the team or organization?

This role ensures that that Move Managers are successfully delivering international assignments (IA) and permanent transfer (PT) moves, that issues are identified and solved quickly and effectively in line with existing policies and processes and that highly complex moves receive expert and dedicated support.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Responsible for leading and inspiring a team of Global Mobility Services Partners, including recruitment, onboarding and training, performance management and evaluation. Responsible for fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team. Provides guidance, mentorship, and support to team members to enhance their professional growth.
  • Responsible for supporting the Global Mobility Services Partners on a day-to-day basis with any issues that may come up in the international assignments and permanent transfers the Global Mobility Services Partners are responsible for.
  • Responsible for ensuring a balanced caseload for their Global Mobility Services Partners team. Responsible to ensure that the defined measures of success for Global Mobility service delivery are met.
  • Responsible for evaluating stakeholders feedback for completed moves (employees, managers and HRBPs).
  • Acts as a first point of escalation for any issues that may arise related to an International Assignment and Permanent Transfer move.
  • Acts as point of engagement for relevant stakeholders (IA, PT, LM, HRBP, vendors, GBS HR GM Services team, GBS HR Employee Services) for the overall process and completion of complex international moves. This includes the ability to handle complex tax cases involving multiple jurisdictions and Corporate Tax implications and alignment. Closely aligns with the Global Mobility Manager in determining the best course of action and solutions for these cases and ensuring excellent delivery.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams as well as Global Mobility Manager to address any potential risks associated with international assignments and permanent transfer moves.
  • Provides consultative advice and manages relationships with the HR teams within the areas to which they are assigned. This involves regular calls with HRBPs and HRDs to discuss case statuses and regular calls with vendors to discuss issues and agree action plans.
  • Supports the admin team to clarify any points required for the completion of the administrative process steps, including compensation and relocation package.
  • Works closely and collaboratively with the GM Services team-leader to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Ensures all process changes are effectively documented and rolled out to Global Mobility Services Partners and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Closely monitors the performance of Global mobility vendors (Immigration, Tax, Shipping, House Search, Cultural Orientation, School search, Language lessons, Bank account etc.) to ensure seamless delivery of moves. Consolidates issues to enable vendor feedback to the COE.
  • Resolves complex queries related to interpretation of the Global Mobility policies on new circumstances and scenarios and related to assignee compensation and package (for example previous vs. updated package comparison to understand impact of changes). Raises any exceptions to the GM Manager as required.
  • Generate reports on global mobility activities, costs, and compliance, as required to support decision-making.
EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE
  • Minimum 7 years in a global mobility role within a multinational corporation
  • Minimum 3 years in a people management role
  • Experience in expatriate tax matters, including but not limited to tax equalization, concept of gross vs net pay, recognizing tax impact of scenarios.
  • Proven experience of working in high pressure, fast-paced environment, working effectively across different time zones
  • Experienced in managing stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
  • Excellent leadership, team management and team coaching skills
  • A subject matter expert on immigration, tax, relocation, and end to end global mobility (GM) process.
  • Able to manage own deliverables as well as other\'s deliverables, ensure timely completion of activities and communicate progress regularly with stakeholders for feedback and input.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to make informed decisions based on data.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and excellent execution capabilities
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic and matrixed organization, navigating complexity to deliver seamlessly.
  • Bachelor Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
