Epsom College in Malaysia offers a unique opportunity for graduates from the UK to spend their gap year here working alongside our excellent teaching professionals and learning from them. The majority of the timetable will be spent working in specific departments, enabling immersion in specialist areas, whilst working with students. Weekday mornings, until the first break) and some evenings will represent free time, but graduates will work in the afternoons and at weekends. One full day off per week, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, depending on the rotation. It is important to note that all on-site boarding staff, including Graduate Assistants, need to be flexible around working hours. A willingness to help out and an ability to show initiative are essential qualities. Main areas of responsibility

• To work within departments acting as an Assistant Teacher in lessons, completing administrative work, coaching and organising sports or arts events. There may also be opportunities to work with other departments such as Marketing, University Admissions or Individual Needs.
• To assist with the weekend boarding programme. There is a wide range of activities and learning experiences on offer and graduate assistants will be required to run, or assist with running, activities.
• To staff key areas in the school, during weekend afternoons, such as the Sports Centre, Art, Drama and Music. This may well involve coaching or running workshops.
• To complete duties in the Boarding House focusing on helping with prep (study). To help with organising and running house trips.
• To help organise the students involved and take part in the running of the House competition, help motivate those participating and generally boost House spirit.
• To help with co-curricular activities each week.
• Any other tasks as deemed appropriate by HoB, AHoB & HMs & HODs
