We provide performance-driven solutions throughout the asset life cycle, from concept to decommissioning across a broad range of industrial markets including upstream, midstream, and downstream oil & gas, chemicals, environment and infrastructure, power & process, clean energy, mining, nuclear and general industrial sectors.To support continued growth, we are searching for a solution-orientated and creative Graduate CFD Consultant to join our Production Optimization (PO) team at the Wood office in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This role reports to the local CFD Team Lead and the local PO Operations Manager. The role will support a wide variety of fast-moving hydrocarbon development projects in subsea and onshore energy transportation with a continuous focus on delivery and client satisfaction.You will have the opportunity to:

  • Learn and use simulation software and perform simulations in multiphase pipe flow, heat transfer, erosion modelling, and thermodynamics to support project design development.
  • Be involved in energy transition (decarbonisation) projects and learn from our global experts on a range of topics, including CO2 and H2 transport.

  • Work with a diverse range of multi-disciplinary team members for a wide range of clients worldwide.
The right candidate is required to have a good fundamental understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, computational fluid dynamics simulation, and heat transfer principles, with the ability to demonstrate either commercial or academic experience in applying CFD to relevant industrial use cases.Responsibilities:Key responsibilities include:
  • Use CFD software to develop advanced CFD models and engineering calculations to solve complex flow problems involving transient, multiphase, multicomponent, multiphysics, coupled flow/thermal/stress.
  • Support the project team in developing smart solutions to automate workflow
  • Ensure all work is undertaken in accordance with the company quality management system
  • Ensure that project objectives assigned by the Client are achieved
  • Must work well with internal team members and clients and must be able to present results effectively
  • Write clear and concise deliverable design basis documentation and summary reports
  • Deliver scopes within the agreed project schedule
  • Liaise with clients effectively and efficiently to address any technical issues and challenges

  • Hold a degree in Engineering (or equivalent) from a recognised tertiary institution focusing in the areas of process engineering / multiphase flow / fluid dynamics / heat transfer. Candidates with MSc, MEng or PhD will have an added advantage
  • Have work experience in similar industry or role is advantageous but not required. Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Possess a strong understanding of the fundamentals of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics
  • Have creativity and perseverance in technical problem solving
  • Be enthusiastic, conscientious, and keen to learn
  • Demonstrate initiative and have good communication skills and strong team collaboration
  • Possess the ability and desire to work in diverse and multi-disciplinary team environments
  • Hold local market and sector knowledge
  • Be proficient in English both in speaking and writing
  • Have experience with major commercial software packages e.g. ANSYS FLUENT, CFX or Star CCM+ and/or open source software such as OpenFOAM would be a plus
  • Be skilled in programming / coding and data analytics (advantageous)
