The company is a start-up neighborhood grocer with a mission to make eating well and living well more accessible to the communities we serve. As part of our vision to be the leading grocery store in our neighborhoods, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the bakery & pastry production of all the companys outlets. This involves R&D of new items, improving production methods, and training & development of the outlet chefs. This is an integral role within the companys F&B department especially as we continue to expand our retail reach in in our locations; shaping the company as the leading grocery and food store in the neighborhoods we operate in. Being a start-up you can expect your days to be pretty varied. Multitasking is normal, and sometimes, your skills or natural talents will be leveraged to support other business priorities. Responsibilities: The main objective of the role is to: Provide leadership and coaching to the outlet team, in order to maximize efficiency and productivity Manage and oversee production and quality of the Bakery & Pastry Department within the company\'s outlets by leading a team of Outlet Chefs Make decisions on operational matters Hold regular meetings with respective Chefs to account for results, discuss over people development or movement and to update the team on the Company and area directions or initiatives. Managing the bakery manpower planning, including staff requisition, training, scheduling, and supervising. Ensuring that production runs smoothly and items are delivered on time. Consistent food preparation and maintaining the standards to build a consistent reputation. Ensure that strict adherence to the sanitation and food safety regulations and ensure that the kitchen is kept tidy and organized. Keep up with market trends, incorporate creative concepts into our menu, and always be one step ahead of the competition. Collaborate with all HQ stakeholders (ie. Marketing, Merchandising, CRM and Project) to problem solve, brainstorm and implement customer-centric initiatives that will enhance our services and offerings. Requirements Must possess a proven track record of service excellence and proficiency as a baker leading and managing a team, CDP or above Diploma and/or Degree in baking/pastry/culinary arts Minimum of 8+ years of work experience in a similar role Display strong leadership abilities and management skills Good communication skills, customer centric mindset with a strong passion to guide and mentor Good understanding of food, health, and safety regulations Able to work efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic bakery environment Highly customer-centric with a passion and love for servicing customers Genuine curiosity to know how things work and how to make them better A self-starter, proactive and hands-on approach.
