Overview of job
GroupM is the world\xe2\x80\x99s largest media investment company and are a part of WPP. In fact, we are responsible for one in every three ads you see globally. We are currently looking for the Assistant Finance Manager to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the full spectrum of finance function (eg: financial and management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, governance and compliance, taxation and operation). You will also work closely with seven reporting teams and co-ordinate submission of various financial reports to Regional Finance.

Reporting of the role

In three months:

• adapted to our dynamic and fast paced working environment

• independently managed monthly/quarterly financial and management reporting, forecasting
• built good working relationships with the leading professionals within the organisation

• fully mastered all reporting and compliance requirements
• identified key areas and opportunities for process improvement
• started to drive process improvement
• delivered the improvements that have resulted in cost savings and streamlined workflows

What your day job looks like at GroupM:

• Lead the full spectrum of finance functions which include financial and management reporting, budgeting and forecasting, governance and compliance, taxation and operation
• Oversee daily assignments performed by the team, and continually motivate the team to meet the finance function\xe2\x80\x99s objectives
• Work closely with seven reporting teams and co-ordinate submission of various financial reports to Regional Finance
• Provide input to Management from the monthly analysis of Income Statement, Balance Sheet and various KPI reports
• Play a proactive role to work with different Department Heads and Business Directors during the budgeting and forecasting exercises
• Liaise with auditors (external/ internal/ SOX), tax consultants and statutory bodies, where applicable
• Undertake ad-hoc tasks as required by superior from time to time.

• Must be proficient in English and Malay, both written and oral
• Computer literate and knowledge in Microsoft Office tools with high competency in Microsoft Excel
• Familiar with Malaysia Tax requirements
• Good planning and communication skills
• Responsible, proactive, self-motivated, meticulous and committed to deliver with integrity
• Able to multi-task and may be required to work long hours to meet tight deadlines.

Minimum qualifications:

• Minimum a Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree with Professional Accountancy Qualification in ACCA / CPA / MICPA or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of working experience with 3 years of external/ internal/ SOX audit exposure (preferably with Big 4 audit firms)
• A generally pleasant personality who is comfortable working with a big team of various backgrounds, personalities and cultures
• Candidate must be willing to work in Damansara Perdana, Petaling Jaya
