Job Summary

The Handyman is responsible for performing general maintenance, repair, and improvement works across residential and commercial properties under management. This role ensures that all building facilities, fixtures, and equipment are maintained in good working condition to provide a safe and comfortable environment for residents, tenants, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

General Maintenance

Perform routine inspections and maintenance of common areas, facilities, and building systems (e.g., lighting, plumbing, doors, walls, ceilings). Repair minor defects including painting, patching, replacing tiles, and fixing furniture or fixtures. Respond promptly to maintenance requests or service calls from management or residents.

Plumbing & Electrical Tasks

Troubleshoot and repair basic plumbing issues such as leaks, clogged drains, or faulty taps. Replace bulbs, switches, sockets, and other minor electrical components under supervision.

Equipment & Facility Upkeep

Ensure tools, equipment, and materials are properly maintained and stored. Assist in the installation and servicing of building equipment such as pumps, fans, or door access systems.

Preventive Maintenance

Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance according to company checklists. Report any potential hazards or required major repairs to the Building Manager.

Support for Contractors & Projects

Assist external contractors during maintenance or renovation works. Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with company standards.

Safety & Compliance

Follow company safety policies and building regulations. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times during work.

Requirements

Education:

Minimum SPM or equivalent. Technical/vocational certification in maintenance, electrical, or plumbing is an advantage.

Experience:

At least 1-2 years' experience in property or building maintenance.

Skills:

Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems. Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely. Good communication and teamwork skills. Able to work independently and manage time efficiently.

Other:

Physically fit and willing to perform manual tasks, including working at heights or in confined spaces.

Pay: RM2,000.00 - RM2,200.00 per month
