A Head, Contract Management (Legal/Procurement) job has become available at a financial institution that needs no introduction. About the Head, Contract Management (Legal/Procurement) Role:
Reporting to the Group CFO/GC, Legal you are required to deliver strategic advice and solutions, managing legal risks as well as drafting, reviewing and negotiating transactional documents in respect of the bank\xe2\x80\x99s corporate services function, amongst other ancillary work. In this business critical role, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality of contract/procurement advisory and support to the group. You will also play a vital role in providing exciting change and development in the commercial banking landscape as well as the direction for all things legal-related, including drafting agreements and rendering legal advice and support to various business units. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience/exposure in a fast-paced work environment and other countries where the bank is present. Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement and manage end-to-end procurement arrangements with vendors which includes drafting, negotiation and finalisation of contracts with suppliers as per business team\xe2\x80\x99s requirements, preferably using bank templates and key terms
  • Review of contracts and related documents
  • Advise business teams on contract terms, risk and impact, where applicable
  • Manage post-contract governance as well as to ensure contract management processes and contract templates are properly documented and in compliance with regulatory norms/ensure audit readiness
  • Demonstrate expertise and experience in handling IT contracts
To succeed in this role, you need to have minimum 15 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in corporate law, managing procurement portfolio in leadership/mid-managerial positions. Key Requirements:
  • Degree in law and a qualified advocate and solicitor in Malaysia
  • Problem solver and strategic in thinking with strong analytical skills
  • Solid hands-on transactional experience and ability to draft, review and negotiate procurement and IT/SaaS contracts, familiar with end-to-end processes for procurement/outsourcing is viewed favourably
  • Strong ability to identify legal risks, review and enhance documentation and processes
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Passionate about constant improvement and innovation
  • Self-motivated individual with excellent organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
