Job Description


Role Responsibilities

Responsible and accountable for overall client growth strategy for International Banking business supporting the segment P&L growth, with a view to meet and/or exceed industry benchmarks

Strategy

  • Responsible for the formulation of the bank\'s strategic and business development plans for the International Banking business and subsequently implement the approved strategy/ plan to facilitate business and the achievement of related short- and long-term business goals in the most effective and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for expanding the Bank\'s reach in foreign markets through the introduction of traditional and innovative customer-focused and industry-focused products and solutions backed by seamless customer service, with the ultimate objective of creating long-term relationships with International Banking customers.
  • Responsible for managing the development and subsequent implementation of International Banking leading practices across all activities/ operations comprising International Banking to promote efficiency in work processes, ultimately resulting in increased customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure provision of value-added International Banking products to the existing/ potential retail clientele and constantly meeting/ exceeding their service expectations.
  • Oversee the roll-out of International Banking products and services by the respective International Banking functions to ensure achievement of pre-set targets/ objectives, including but not limited to business growth and expansion plans.
Business
  • Responsible for driving the growth and success of the International banking division, delivering exceptional financial solutions to clients.
  • Identify opportunities for structural cost transformation, improvement of business performance and other organizational goals, such as organizational effectiveness, process improvements, rationalization, and digitization
  • Lead and support the development of long and short-term strategic initiatives to plan, inform and provide recommendations to optimize performance in terms of costs, revenue, quality, etc.
  • Design, lead and oversee research and data analysis for International Banking initiatives to continuously identify opportunities and support in developing recommendations and solutions to drive efficiencies and optimize operations
  • Develop and apply analytical approaches to business opportunities, challenges, and recommendations (including benchmark analysis and comparison, data analysis, cost rationalization, etc.) to support strategic initiatives in International Banking
Processes
  • Cultivate and ideal people culture that aligns to Bank\xe2\x80\x99s strategy and values
  • Owner of segment and sales processes and practices, responsible for approval & sales error rates, TAT etc
  • Migrate and promote best practices across entire organization.
  • Being measured against overall customer satisfaction scoring, at the same time ensure that the monitoring process is clearly defined.
  • Manage sales and service operations efficiency & efficacy.
People & Talent
  • Energize the sales channel to deliver the best result
  • Implement effective HR standards and strategies, manage succession plan, retain key talent, and ensure constant discipline in performance management.
  • Engage Training to address training needs, implement training roadmaps
  • Ensure sales channel\xe2\x80\x99s discipline in HR & training related matters
Risk Management
  • Develop, rollout, maintain and where applicable, recommend procedures and controls that meet / strengthen the requirements of Group and local policies and standards.
  • Ensure sales teams are 100% compliance with rules and regulations, ensure adherence to operational risk controls and procedures in day-to-day management
  • Build adequate TCF processes in to prevent mis-selling, misrepresentation, fraud and adhere to customer data confidentiality principles.
  • Ensure effective management is in place for money laundering prevention in line with Group and local policies and standards, based on guidance from CFCC. Ensure appropriate communication with staff for adherence to money laundering prevention guidelines.
  • To ensure good ratings in internal / external audits, governance, compliance, GIA reviews
Governance
  • Ensure all sales staffs are well trained on conduct related matters.
  • Put in place robust controls to monitor sales force behaviour and identify conduct issues proactively.
  • Ensure compensation scheme drive appropriate behaviour balancing sales and conduct
Regulatory & Business Conduct
  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the
. * Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead the Malaysia CPBB International Banking and Employee Banking to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank\xe2\x80\x99s Conduct Principles
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.

Other Responsibilities
  • Country International Banking and Employee Banking performance
  • Customer experience performance (NPS or Complaints / CSS / Other customer experience related KPIs)
  • Conduct and control via control test score and blended audit rating.
  • People management through retaining of talents and key training arrangement.
  • Invest and innovate via Ops losses and ratio of meeting NSR / KPIs.
  • Responsible for the execution of accountable executive responsibilities and general governance oversight of the under listed subsidiary/ies in line with the Group\xe2\x80\x99s policies and risk frameworks.
Qualifications

Training, licenses, memberships and certifications
  • MBA and/or business/finance designation preferred
  • 6+ years of experience in banking, financial services industry and/or management consulting
  • Strong business acumen and organizational skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong knowledge in financial analysis, FP&A / corporate finance experience is an asset
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to build complex dynamic financial models
  • Proven experience in data management and visualization tools is preferred (VBA, SQL, PowerBI)
  • Proven experience managing resources
  • Ability to deliver results in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic business environment
  • Project management experience
  • Ability to work in a flexible office environment
  • Spanish fluency is preferred
