Job Description

JOB PURPOSE Accountable for all legal matters and advice on issues or litigations affecting Prasarana Malaysia Berhad (Prasarana). In this position, you will provide legal and compliance support to all functions and subsidiaries across the group and lead or support strategic and/or complex projects. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Lead and direct all development of legal strategies to support the business operations of Prasarana; Oversee all legal matters and activities needed to be performed for the Group; Manage a team of legal counsels and conduct an investigation of legal issues in order to advise the legal options and solutions for management; Lead all development programmes for subordinates to ensure their competence and standards in their daily operations; Ensure all statutory and other regulatory changes are kept current within Group practices and advise management accordingly the best course of action to take arising from such changes; Ensure the department\'s cost and budget are kept within approved parameters and any shortfalls and anomalies are quickly rectified to prevent undue variances; and Liaise and maintain with external related parties and agencies so that the Legal Unit is kept abreast of any legal changes, policies and regulations are noted and changes made accordingly so that the group is always aware of business implications from such changes. QUALIFICATION, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES AND KNOWLEDGE Bachelor\'s of Laws (LL.B) or higher qualifications. At least 15 years working experience with deep knowledge of all legal matters and legal counselling. Experience of working in a fast paced demanding legal environment. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (including drafting and negotiating) and organisational skills. Self-motivated and driven to develop legal capabilities and understand the business. Personal presence and professional ability to take ownership of projects as an individual contributor and team leader and be confident and firm with legal positions. Track record of collaborating with multiple functions and demonstrating strong leadership in complex matters. Exposure in dealing with litigation cases. Ability to manage team and stakeholders.
