Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement the department's research and development strategy in line with organizational goals. Oversee all R&D projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality of outputs. Lead, mentor, and manage the R&D team to foster innovation and professional growth. Monitor and evaluate industry trends, new technologies, and competitors to guide R&D efforts. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, external partners, and stakeholders to enhance research outcomes. Manage department budgets, resources, and timelines effectively. Prepare and present reports on R&D progress and results to senior management. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, safety policies, and environmental guidelines. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and scientific rigor within the department. Identify new research opportunities and potential areas for innovation to drive company growth. Establish and enforce best practices, standards, and protocols for research and development activities. Coordinate with regulatory bodies to ensure that all R&D activities comply with legal and ethical standards. Facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration within the department and across other company units. Manage intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, and trade secrets related to R&D outputs. Lead risk assessment and mitigation efforts related to research projects and product development. Oversee the recruitment, training, and performance evaluation of R&D staff to build a high-performing team. Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing R&D efficiency and effectiveness. Organize and participate in technical reviews, audits, and brainstorming sessions to foster innovation. Ensure timely documentation and reporting of research findings, experimental results, and project status. Promote sustainability and environmentally responsible practices in research and product development. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively. Experience in publishing research or holding patents is a plus.
