Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Malaysia\'s Industrial Division is recruiting on behalf an established engineering firm specializing in diesel engine maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services and vessel maintenance management.The Head of HR will lead the company\'s human resources strategy, ensuring that our people processes align with business objectives and foster a productive, positive work environment. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong HR background to drive initiatives in recruitment, employee development, performance management, and employee relations.Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives that align with the company\'s business goals and enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Oversee the recruitment and selection process to attract and retain top talent, ensuring the company\'s staffing needs are met.
  • Design and implement performance management systems to evaluate employee performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead employee development initiatives, including training programs, career development plans, and succession planning.
  • Manage employee relations, addressing any issues or conflicts promptly to maintain a positive work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with local labor laws and regulations, updating company policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Develop and manage the HR budget, optimizing resources to support HR activities effectively.
  • Foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the company.
  • Collaborate with department heads to support organizational changes and provide HR guidance on various business initiatives.
  • Monitor HR metrics and analyze data to inform strategic decision-making and improve HR processes.
  • Lead and mentor the HR team, promoting professional development and growth.
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master\'s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a senior HR role, preferably within the engineering or manufacturing sectors.
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing HR strategies and initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of local labor laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing HR teams.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret HR metrics and data to drive decisions.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle complex employee relations issues.
  • Professional HR certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, or equivalent) is an advantage.
