What is the opportunity?

RBC Shared Services Malaysia is a processing center of operational excellence supporting multiple RBC businesses in countries across various time zones. Malaysia is one of several operational processing centers within RBC supporting a variety of businesses and Functions including Wealth Management, Capital Markets, Investor & Treasury Services, Global Risk Management, and Finance. The entity utilizes a Global Operating Model to maximise efficiencies across times zones and supports various shifts to ensure ongoing support across time zones. The objectives for Malaysia are to enhance the scalability of RBC\xe2\x80\x99s global operations, improve service quality via our \xe2\x80\x98centres of excellence\xe2\x80\x99 and to implement/leverage standard processes.

The incumbent will be the local head of HR and single point of contact within Malaysia for all HR related issues. They will act as a people champion ensuring employees are consistently high on the leadership agenda. In addition, the successful candidate will be responsible for the execution locally of all RBC Human Resources activities, projects and initiatives.

Providing support to Business and Functional groups in Malaysia on their strategies and enterprise agenda through the development, advancement, and execution of RBC HR strategy, objectives, people solutions and plans in alignment with overall business and functional goals, the Head of HR Malaysia will lead on more complex or sensitive day to day people issues in partnership with leaders and managers.

What will you do?

Building Talent, Teams and Shaping the Future - partners with local and global leaders in planning, development and enablement of an agile, adaptable, and highly competent workforce. Partners with the RBC HR community to identify emerging market trends and uses knowledge to successfully plan for short and long-term workforce issues and succession requirements. Drives talent management with respect to annual talent process (ATP) and succession planning to ensure most effective use of talent and resources. Ensures employee development needs are identified and acted upon through developmental assignments or appropriate learning interventions. Embeds and promotes the total rewards philosophy and approach and drives integrated approach to Managerial Excellence.

Bold, High Impact HR - Leads the local HR function acting as the key point of contact to Malaysia management team. Aligns with business leaders in the creation and execution of overall business strategies. Advises senior business leaders on potential HR contributions, solutions, implications and risks of proposed business initiatives at initial planning stages and throughout the business cycle. Advises on group and platform strategies to source, retain and develop Human Capital to meet business needs. Provides guidance and direction on compensation processes for all employees including Management Committees (i.e. mid-term incentives, short-term incentives, Base Salary, etc.). Contributes to the development and evolution of compensation-related programs for individual business units and employee segments using sound knowledge of HR policies, standards, and practices to support good governance. Ensures the business/function and legal entity is adhering to all applicable legislation and policies related to employee matters (i.e. pay equity, employment equity, etc.). Ensures compliance of HR related matters for the function based on regulatory requirements. Improves HR operational excellence by identifying, responding to, and working with stakeholders/employees on process and efficiency change

Agile, Productive Work Place - Provides direct guidance to all local Senior Leaders and their teams on all aspects of workforce management and change, including talent management, leadership development, employee development and enablement. Partners with HR Centers of Expertise (COE) and Shared Services Centers as required. Advances and executes the RBC HR strategic objectives.

Exceptional Employee Experience - Leads in assessing and strengthening culture, engagement, leadership depth and employee capability through support of integrated leadership programs and development opportunities. Leads the creation of the aligned learning strategy and regular updates. Conducts leadership debriefs and development driving the cultural change for senior talent as required. Engages in employee relations activities locally as required and in consultation with ER partners.

What Do You Need to Succeed?

Must Have

Undergraduate degree plus HR certification preferred.

7+ years of HR experience in financial services.

Knowledge of business being supported.

HR management.

Financial business acumen and Project management.

Coaching.

Demonstrated strategic influencing and partnering, relationship management, and customer insight.

Ability to act with autonomy and a consulting orientation.

Nice to Have

Demonstrated motivation and enthusiasm.

Effective in a high-stress environment.
