EHS Engineer (Location: Penang) Qualifications and Education Requirements
Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor\'s Degree/Professional Degree in Engineering
(Environmental/Health/Safety) or equivalent.
Certified and registered Safety & Health Officer with Department of Occupational, Safety & Health and a competent person for CePSWaM registered with Department of Environment. Familiar with ESWiS reporting system.
3 to 5 years of working experience in the comprehensive management of EHS in large and medium-sized manufacturing industries.
Familiar with Malaysian related Guideline and ESH Regulations specifically OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, FSA 1988, EQA 1974, etc.
Good communication and coordination skills; can bear hardships and stand hard work, have a strong sense of responsibility for work, learning ability, and teamwork spirit.
Proficiency in safety manufacturing standards, double prevention mechanism operation, and construction & maintenance knowledge and skills.
Presentation skill and well versed in Microsoft office application.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and coordination skills.
Possess own transport.
a) Waste and Environmental Management
To supervise, coordinate and manage WPS out-sourced vendor who conduct jobs on behalf by providing necessary information and training and ensure their activities are comply to applicable regulations and client requirement.
Responsible to manage day to day operation of site waste management (scheduled waste, general waste, manufacturing scraps), air emission and industrial effluent and compliance activities as per Environmental
Mainstreaming Directive to ensure meeting applicable legal requirement and conform to site chemical and waste management procedure.
To coordinating analytical testing to identify waste category, solicit, track and report waste data in timely manner; maintain all associated records in accordance to client waste management and local legal requirement.
To support and implement client environmental improvement program such as waste reduction, recycling, and reuse.
To attend necessary continuous education training to ensure valid certification as DOE approved competent person of scheduled waste.
b) Safety and Health Contractor, Project Management and Facilities maintenance
To coordinate contractor and facilities maintenance activities in accordance to client contractor EHS management procedures, building space utilization procedures, and other applicable EHSMS procedures, supervise and inspect contractor on site activities and work site to ensure job are conducted in safe manner, conform to Agilent EHS requirements and comply to applicable regulations.
To coordinate and review contractor work method, HIRARC and completion of other risk assessments, injuries investigation and reporting involve contractors and outsources vendor, appropriate and adequate control measures, safe work procedures and EHS training are established and implemented. Escalate and rectify any unsafe condition, unsafe act, non-compliance, and non-conformance to WPS/ EHS requirements and follow up on closure of action plan to reduce EHS risk.
To facilitate internal and external communication of EHSMS relevant information and deployment of training including contractor\xe2\x80\x99s EHS communication package to the affected parties that are engaged and provide WPS services.
Investigate and validate root cause and propose feasible solutions, log and track, conduct trend analysis on worker\xe2\x80\x99s health and safety complaint related to indoor air quality and facilities functions, establish and follow up on action plan to ensure closure.
To attend necessary continuous education programs /training to ensure valid continual certification as
DOSH approved competent person SHO.
Emergency preparedness and response
Oversee implementation of inspection and maintenance of emergency response equipment (AED, Firstaid station, communication system /tools, emergency shower and eyewash, fire extinguishing and emergency alert /triggering system, ERT response center cabinet meeting company expectation).
Establish, maintain, testing and review effectiveness on emergency response procedures associated to facilities functions in meeting site emergency preparedness and response procedures requirements and train affected facilities and securities personnel.
c)EHS Management System
To maintain procedures/ documented information/legal records and support EHS audits associated to facilities functions described in site EHSMS procedures.
