Position Title: Country Environment, Health and Safety Manager Working Location: Kuala Lumpur What this job involves: Putting safety protocols in place As an industry leader, JLL not only thinks of ways to optimise a workplace-we also make sure that everybody in there is safe and risk-free. That\'s why we\'re on the lookout for an effective Country HSE manager who will help the account directors in implementing and managing JLL Global HSSE management system within the accounts. As the person in charge, you\'ll see to it Malaysia federal and state EHS laws and regulations are religiously followed in all our clients\' portfolios. You\'ll make workplace safety a primary priority by conducting risk evaluation and putting protocols in place. You\'ll also be on top of workplace incidents, managing each situation with sharp and analytical mind set. Aside from these, you\'ll be providing reports on the adoption of safety protocols. You\'ll also be the go-to person for all things related to workplace safety, first aid, fire safety, LOTO and emergency response. In this role, you\'ll provide valuable insights and technical advice on mitigating risks. Performing routine inspections, reviews and audits is part of your mandate, too. As the person in charge, you\'ll work closely with the Malaysia HSE resources, EO team and local account FM teams to ensure that our safety measures and procedures are adhered to. Likewise, you\'ll constantly collaborate with the account teams to identify opportunities for improvement and determine cost-effective ways in implementing our safety standards. Also, part of your scope is to build good working relationship with our clients and contractors. In this role, you\'ll work side-by-side with facilities managers in handling key external and internal stakeholders. You\'ll also support our procurement team in selecting contractors and ensuring that these approved experts follow safety standards in place. What this job involves Performance . Implement JLL Work Dynamics HSSE strategic objectives and bring them to life for the Malaysia accounts, ensuring effective operational relevance. . Manage and reduce operational risks across the accounts by providing guidance and advice on health and safety risk management at all levels. . Provide technical advice on relevant HSE issues and communicate notifications of changes in legislation that will impact service delivery and/or client occupancy. . Ensure a continued working knowledge of relevant current legislation . Identify improvement opportunities and support the account teams in identifying practical cost-effective solutions and controls for HSE risks. . Ensure facility related risk assessments are in place in line with legal requirements and client HSE Standards. . Manage accounts for incident and accident investigations . Provide support to sales team in HSE solution development for clients. . As HSE SME, provide transitional support to new accounts and establish HSE process. . Organize, implement, and maintain an effective account HSE communication plan Leadership . Foster a Culture of Safety across the accounts. . Lead, manage and develop the local HSE resources and maintaining an appropriate structure to ensure operational HSE management. . Support account FM team members in developing relationships with key internal and external HSE stakeholders. . Proactively develop and manage client relationships ensuring expected service levels are achieved . Deliver an exceptional quality of service to the account, as reflected by client feedback. . Establish effective relationships and work co-operatively with the Account Teams, client, and 3rd party vendors and other country HSE leads in Southeast Asia. . Contribute to Work Dynamics HSSE programme as part of the global HSSE team . Ensure 3rd party vendors always maintain compliance with JLL and client HSE Standards Standards . Oversee the implementation and maintenance of JLL Global HSSE operational controls, (i.e., process, standards, procedures, and guidelines) ensuring compliance with HSE obligations and JLL\'s HSSE aspirations . Identify and align JLL HSSE practices to client HSE standards and requirements . Drive the development of best practice HSE training programs and resources. . Implement HSE strategy and operating protocols for the safety performance of JLL\'s contractors and supply chain vendors. . Oversee the successful delivery of HSE regulatory responsibilities and best practices globally to secure regulatory compliance, including management of change related to new and revised legislation. . Oversee the successful management of assurance for the HSSE program, while supporting growth strategies related to Client, JLL and/or national and industry standards. A minimum 10 years management experience within HSE Management systems and working with corporate clients. . Managing HSE for multiple clients across Malaysia with a strong understanding of Malaysia HSE regulatory environment. . Valid Green Book holder registered with the Department of Occupational Safety & Health (DOSH) . Management system development, implementation, and auditing experience . Experience of implementing HSE technology platforms and data management tools across multiple countries & regions. . Experience of managing multi-cultural team of FM professionals . Practical working knowledge of up-to-date tools and techniques within a real estate environment and management of risk across multi-site property portfolio. . Significant practical experience of problem solving HSSE issues in a dynamic/diverse environment and implementation of risk control systems and processes. . An agile approach to leadership and stakeholder management - able to operate effectively in a matrix structure. . A strong orientation to goals and measurable results. . Excellent communication skills to appropriately coach and educate the local HSE Team. Other Personal Characteristics . Positive, proactive, energetic approach to safety management. .
