Kelayakan

• Candidate must possess at least a Degree in Horticulture.
• At least 5 years of working experience as a horticulturist in a golf course.
• Working experience in the golf industry is a must
• Good understanding of horticultural pest and diseases - particularly as they relate to golf course management.
• Computer literate and familiar with MS Office.
• Proficient in written and oral - English and Bahasa Melayu.
• Possess a positive attitude. Must be self-motivated with a high level of integrity.
• Enjoys working outside in a physically demanding environment.
• Able to develop and work with teams.
• Willing to work longer hours in emergency situations or during tournaments / renovation / construction work as requested by management.
• Able to work 5.5 days a week/weekends/public holidays.

Tanggungjawab

• Report to the Course Superintendent.
• Ability to organize and plan the quarterly and annual maintenance programme i.e. fertilisation, spraying of fungicides and insecticides programme, pruning of trees and flowers plants and weed control.
• Look after all trees and plants. Ability to diagnose disease, like fungus problems, root disease, die-back and insect infestation. Must be able to treat the disease.
• Knowledge of current types of herbicides available in the market and their uses.
• Ensure the nursery is upkept to agreed standards and propagate plants in the nursery.
• To improve on the existing landscaping areas.
• To understudy and assist in the overall maintenance of the golf courses.
• Provides professional advice on the selection, ordering, planting culture and maintenance of trees, shrubs, ground covers, and turf grasses.
• Assists in planning and designing and upkeep of annual and perennial flower beds.
• Assists in the production of bedding plants, potted plants, and nursery stock and maintains records on the growing operation.
• Training and supervising subordinate personnel in the proper methods and techniques of planting ornamental plants.
• Trains grounds personnel in the techniques of pruning, wound dressing, cavity repair, and the cabling and bracing of trees and shrubs.
• Assists in preparing acquisitions for various types of plants and seeds.
• Assists in supervising the processing of accessioning deaccessioning, mapping, relocating, and labelling plants in collection areas.
• Performs related duties as required.
