Job Summary

Responsible for the maintenance of guest rooms and surrounding areas in accordance with the policies, guidelines and standards.

Duties

  • Manages and coordinates daily housekeeping operations.
  • Manages employees performing a variety of cleaning duties to ensure buildings remain clean and free of safety hazards.
  • Ensures services are cost efficient and complied with the contract terms; maintains records of all work performed.
  • Cultivates professional relationships with guests and ensures services are being performed in accordance with the housekeeping contract.
  • Ensures compliance to Shangri-La Group\'s minimum quality and service standards of guest rooms.
  • Oversees janitorial budgets, supplies, and equipment purchasing and repairs.
  • Organizes, assigns, and coordinates workloads; leads assigned employees and contract vendors to perform custodial services.
  • Completes \xe2\x80\x9cGuest rooms Cleanliness Inspection Program\xe2\x80\x9d according to the Balanced Scorecard and audit requirements.
  • Motivates housekeeping team through training, counselling, coaching, and performance reviews.
  • Provides necessary skills & knowledge training to the housekeeping team to uplift the quality and level of staying experiences of the guests.
  • Handles guests\' complaints or dissatisfaction and provides necessary service recovery to delight guests.
  • Minimizes issues and safety risks by prioritizing tasks and ensures adherence to procedures, regulations, and guidelines.
  • Ensures information from Preference pad is given and updated by Guest History Executive
  • Ensures guest preference is met upon arrival and at every visit.
  • Ensures a high level of customer delight within the department. Ensures a high level of guest recovery from guest complaints.
  • Ensures the highest level of safety and security to all external and internal customers.
Requirements
  • Certificate/ Diploma in Hotel Management or related field is preferred.
  • Preferably with 2-3 years\' working experience in a similar role.
  • Communicates with fluency in English (and local language).
  • Independent, good interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Due to work permit restrictions, only citizens of Malaysia and Permanent Residents of Malaysia shall be considered.
