Manage and streamline core HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee records, payroll processing, benefits administration, and compliance.
Ensure compliance with employment laws, university policies, and regulatory requirements.
Support internal audits and manage risk mitigation related to HR practices.
Serve as a point of contact for HR queries and employee relations issues, resolving conflicts effectively and confidentially.
Responsible to handle HR operations from end to end.
Talent Management:
Responsible for overseeing the recruitment and talent team.
Lead the development and implementation of talent acquisition strategies to attract high-quality faculty and administrative staff.
Partner with department heads to forecast staffing needs and succession planning.
Develop and coordinate performance management systems, including appraisals, goal setting, and feedback mechanisms.
Identify learning and development needs; design and implement training programs aligned with institutional goals.
Promote employee engagement, retention initiatives, and diversity and inclusion strategies.
Conduct market Survey and propose recommendations in line with industry trends and practices on employee remuneration to ensure pay competitiveness.
Work with HOD to review competencies in developing a competent workforce.
Work with HOD on implementation of succession & talent management plan.
Responsible for staying abreast of the latest developments in talent acquisition and management.
Responsible in benchmarking exercise for employer of choice.
Perform all related Talent Management work as required from time to time.
Education & Qualification
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM, CIPD, MIHRM) is an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum
5-7 years of progressive HR experience
, with at least
2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory role
.
Preferably with experience in the education sector / higher education institutions (private or public universities, colleges, or schools).
Strong exposure to
HR operations, recruitment, payroll, employee relations, and performance management
.
Hands-on experience with
academic-related HR matters
(e.g., teaching permits, contract renewals, adjunct/visiting professors, external examiners) will be a strong advantage.
Technical Skills
In-depth knowledge of Malaysian
Employment Act, labor laws, and statutory compliance
.
Proficiency in
HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, and HR reporting tools
.
Good understanding of
talent management, training & development, and succession planning
.
