This role is critical in ensuring compliance with the Department of Occupational Safety & Health Malaysia (DOSH) requirements, particularly for construction projects with a contract value of RM20 million or more. The Safety Personnel will be responsible for implementing and maintaining safety protocols, conducting safety training, and ensuring the health and safety of all workers on site. On completion of project they will serve as part of a support group maintaining deployed systems to ensure their operability within the production environment.
What You'll Do:
Serve as the full-time competent Safety & Health Officer for construction projects, ensuring compliance with DOSH Act requirements.
Site Safety Supervision: Act as the Site Safety Supervisor adhering to the Occupational
Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994 and the Factories and Machinery Act (FMA) 1967.
Safety Documentation - creating, review, submission and managing the documents
First Aid Compliance
Safety Protocols Implementation
Training & Education
Risk Assessment & Management
Incident Reporting & Investigation: Report and investigate any safety incidents or accidents and recommend preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
Ensure safety and wellbeings of employee onsite and emphasize regulations accordance to goivernance and company policy.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all activities are compliance with local safety regulations and company policies, including contract terms with local authorities and clients.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training activities, and prepare necessary reports for management and regulatory bodies.
Engagement in DC/BMS/automation/control/IT projects through the project lifecycle
Your Experience:
Bachelor or Diploma preferably in ( Electrical / Mechanical Power / OSHA ) or a related field.
Min 3 years experience in construction industry or related industry field.
Existing citizenship of Malaysia or work rights in Malaysia
Certifications: Must have a Green Book or Yellow Book certification as part of safety requirements in the Malaysian construction industry. Certification as a Safety & Health Officer (SHO) by DOSH Malaysia is also required
Strong understanding of OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, and other relevant safety regulations in Malaysia
Knowledgeable in / of BMS processes
Excellent communication and training skills, with the ability to effectively educate and motivate workers on safety practices.
Language Competence in English (primary) and Bahasa Malaysia would also be well regarded
