The Role Payroll Officer responsibilities include calculating employees\xe2\x80\x99 compensation, updating our internal payroll databases and ensuring timely payments. To be successful in this role, you should have a flair for numbers and be able to handle sensitive information. If you\xe2\x80\x99re also familiar with labor legislation, we\xe2\x80\x99d like to meet you. Ultimately, you will help run a smooth and accurate payroll process. Responsibilities \xe2\x80\xa2 Collect daily, weekly or monthly timesheets \xe2\x80\xa2 Calculate bonuses and allowances \xe2\x80\xa2 Prepare employees\xe2\x80\x99 compensation by the end of each month using payroll software \xe2\x80\xa2 Schedule bank payments or hand out paychecks directly to employees \xe2\x80\xa2 Distribute payment statements and gather signed receipts (digital or paper) \xe2\x80\xa2 Report on payroll expenses \xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure wages and tax withholdings comply with regulations \xe2\x80\xa2 Enter new employees\xe2\x80\x99 data (e.g. bank accounts and tax identification numbers) into internal databases \xe2\x80\xa2 Answer questions about compensation, benefits, taxes and insurance deductions Requirements and skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Proven work experience as a Payroll Officer, Payroll Clerk or similar role \xe2\x80\xa2 Hands-on experience with QPay HR2000 System \xe2\x80\xa2 Strong math skills with an ability to spot numerical errors \xe2\x80\xa2 Good knowledge of labor legislation \xe2\x80\xa2 Time-management skills \xe2\x80\xa2 Ability to handle confidential information \xe2\x80\xa2 BSc in Accounting, Human Resources or relevant field This job description sets out the duties of the post at the time it was drawn up.
