What you will be part of?

The HR Manager role is responsible for overseeing and managing various aspects of human resources within the organization, which has approximately 200 to 250 employees. The main objective of an HR Manager is to ensure that the company\'s employees are effectively recruited, trained, and supported in their roles. You will need to act as a Business Partner to the division leaders, while also acting as a trusted partner, coach, and mentor for managers on people issues.

You are responsible for (but not limited to):

  • Ensures the department\'s operational efficiency, including, but not limited to, recruitment, learning and talent development, compensation and benefits, colleague engagement, performance management, and other related responsibilities.
  • Drive recruitment based on business requirements. Developing and implementing strategies to attract and hire qualified candidates. This involves creating job descriptions, advertising job openings, screening resumes, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions.
  • Facilitates and collaborates with Department Heads on performance evaluation exercises, including administration, tabulation, and manage education, to ensure fairness is applied both before and after the process. Supports and ensures the advancement of high-potential colleagues\' Individual Development Plans (IDPs) at the center.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, including addressing grievances, conflicts, and disciplinary actions. Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
  • Collaborate with the Training team to determine organizational training needs and coordinate the learning and development plan based on business inputs.
  • Administering employee compensation and benefits programs. This involves evaluating market trends, conducting salary surveys, managing payroll processes, and ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Developing and implementing HR policies, procedures, and guidelines, that align with legal requirements and align with operating standards and policies of the Shangri-La Group
  • Leads by example, demonstrating leadership qualities and principles.
  • Drives productivity KPIs in collaboration with Divisional executives.
  • Ensures the execution of the improvement action plan based on the data aggregated in the Shangri-La Culture Pulse Survey is effective and impactful.
  • Knowledgeable in the Employment Act of 1955 and the Industrial Relations Act of 1967. Ensuring compliance with labor laws, regulations, and employment standards. Stays updated on changes in labor legislation and ensures the organization adheres to legal requirements related to employment practices.
  • Maintaining and analyzing HR data to identify trends and generate reports for management. This can include workforce demographics, turnover rates, training needs, and other relevant metrics.
  • Drive HR improvement projects and initiatives
  • Embraces and cultivates the Shangri-La Culture (Our Vision, Purpose, Business, Beliefs, and Nature). To be a role model.
  • Guides and supports the human resources team, resulting in a high-performing and engaged workforce.
  • Proactively alerts management about potential employee relations concerns and addresses them in a timely manner.
To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience.
  • Bachelor\'s degree or Diploma in Human resources or business administration or any related equivalent qualification
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in human resources or related fields in a managerial capacity.
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and maintains a positive attitude when interacting with internal and external customers, consistently upholding the highest standards of service.
  • Develop and maintain close working relationships with all departments throughout the center.
  • Possesses excellent proficiency in computer software, particularly office applications, and demonstrates adeptness in operating various office equipment.
  • Proficient in utilizing Microsoft Excel and well-versed in using formulas and functions.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Due to work permit restrictions, only citizens of Malaysia and Permanent Residents of Malaysia shall be considered.
