Import Customer Service Executive (Air & Sea Freight)
.
This position plays a key role in managing the complete import process -- from pre-alert to final delivery -- while ensuring full compliance with customs regulations and delivering top-tier service to customers. The successful candidate will also help
develop SOPs
and
groom the operations team
to achieve higher efficiency and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Handle
end-to-end import operations
for both air and sea shipments, including pre-alerts, clearance coordination, and final delivery.
Prepare and verify
import documentation
, ensuring compliance with Malaysian customs and company requirements.
Coordinate closely with
customers, airlines, shipping lines, overseas agents, and customs brokers
for smooth cargo flow.
Monitor shipment status and proactively communicate updates to clients.
Manage
billing, cost control, and file closing
accurately and in a timely manner.
Develop, maintain, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
for import processes.
Train and mentor
junior staff to strengthen their understanding of import operations and customer service.
Ensure compliance with
trade regulations, safety standards, and company policies
.
Requirements
Minimum
2 years of experience
in
freight forwarding / logistics
, specializing in
import operations (air & sea)
.
Strong knowledge of
customs procedures, import documentation, and port/airport processes
.
Experience in
SOP creation, process improvement, and staff training
preferred.
Excellent communication and coordination skills; customer-focused and detail-oriented.
Proficient in
Microsoft Office
and familiar with freight management systems (e.g., Freightlab SAP, or equivalent).
Fluent in
English and Bahasa Malaysia
;
Mandarin
proficiency is an advantage.
Self-motivated, reliable, and able to handle high-volume transactions independently.
