Duties and Responsibilities

:

Security Responsibilities:

Regularly patrol the two levels of the building (L13 & L13A of Top Glove Tower) to ensure comprehensive security coverage and deter potential threats. Monitor student movement upon arrival, during breaks, and at dismissal, as well as oversee security systems, including CCTV cameras, alarm systems, and access control. Respond promptly to security breaches, incidents, and alarms. Maintain and enforce security procedures, ensuring the safety of students, employees, guests, and assets. Conduct security checks at entry and exit points, ensuring proper identification and authorization for access. Report and document security-related incidents, accidents, or hazards immediately, preferably within the same day. Assist in emergency evacuations and coordinate with emergency services if needed.

Maintenance Responsibilities:

Perform routine inspections of facilities, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning), and lighting systems. Carry out minor repairs such as fixing leaky faucets, repairing locks, or performing general upkeep. Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of offices, facilities, classrooms and common areas. Coordinate with external contractors for specialized maintenance or repair work when necessary. Maintain an inventory of maintenance tools and materials and ensure their proper use and storage.

Other Duties:

Maintain records of both security incidents and maintenance activities. Assist with setting up or breaking down event spaces, if applicable. Respond to emergency situations, including fire, medical, or safety concerns.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Possess a Diploma in a related field or equivalent. Must be available to work from Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5.00pm. Prior experience in security or facility maintenance is preferred. A retiree in good health and physical condition is welcomed. Basic knowledge of building systems, health and safety regulations and maintenance procedures. Good communication skills in both verbal and written.

Strong attention to detail and ability to perform tasks independently. Good problem-solving skills and ability to handle repairs or maintenance issues efficiently. Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well with team members and the public.
