Collaborating closely with the Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE), they meticulously review measuring results to preemptively address any discrepancies before non-conformance tickets are raised. Additionally, their involvement in calibration and maintenance activities ensures that measurement equipment remains in efficient condition, facilitating accurate inspections and growing quality control efforts.Furthermore, the technician fosters a culture of cleanliness and efficiency in the inspection area, adhering to the principles of the 5S methodology. By maintaining measurement equipment in pristine condition and upholding a clutter-free environment, they create an atmosphere conducive to effective quality control practices. Their proactive approach not only improves the reliability of inspections but also gives to the company\'s reputation for delivering outstanding products that meet and exceed customer expectations.What will you need to be successful?Candidates for the position should ideally possess a Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, supplemented by sophisticated training in Metrology Engineering, although technical education in any engineering discipline would also be effective. Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is helpful.In terms of experience, familiarity with ISO13845, ASME Y14.5, and ASTM standards is helpful, along with a proven track record in a similar role within machining environments. Previous success as a Quality Technician and a deep understanding of quality processes, especially in the context of medical device components, are effective. Proficiency in using key quality tools such as 5 Whys, Ishikawa diagrams, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and GD&T features are highly valued.Moreover, candidates should have validated experience with Metrology equipment, including CMM (preferably Zeiss CONTURA), Keyence Optical inspection, non-contact surface roughness inspection, and other common Metrology tools.
