About the job Industrial Purchasing Manager

Our client is a MNC automotive company with global presence and they are looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of Industrial Purchasing Manager for its plant in Gurun , Kedah.

To be the Purchasing Representative for a plant (and vice versa)

• He/She is a member of the plant Director board, dedicated to the plant and located on site.

• He/She ensures that any major purchasing topic for the plant is handled by central purchasing (anticipation and escalation role).

• Depending on the manufacturing pool organization, the IPM scope could be enlarged to several plants with the target to globalize some supplier contracts and increase savings.

To guarantee the purchasing performance towards the plant, with a special focus on Total Landed Cost improvement

• He/She is responsible to drive the purchasing performance for the benefit of the carlines or engines produced by the plant

• He/She identifies any new opportunity to bring cost savings (Monozukuri workshops, resourcing, ) and ensures their achievement

• He/She contributes to the elaboration and execution of plant Master Plan (\xc2\xab Want To Be \xc2\xbb) for supplier related issues (in situ suppliers, development of optimized sourcing area) and guarantees that new sourcing are compliant to the Want To Be scheme.

• He/She contributes to the arrival of new programs on site, together with Program Purchasing Managers (Serial Prices, Run at rate, Hand off report, Monozukuri portfolio).

• He/She supports the plant for the ISO certification process for purchasing matters

To contribute to suppliers performance improvement (quality, logistics,)

• He/She ensures that logistics, quality or service issues are handled correctly by central purchasing and escalates if necessary

• He/She manages the recovery of logistics and quality claims

• He /She has a re-inforced role towards local suppliers (especially just in time suppliers)

Job \xef\xbb\xbfRequirements

• Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance or equivalent.
• At least 5 years in a similar capacity managerial role.
• Possess good understanding of purchasing process in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong in negotiation skills, project managemnet, risk management.
