We are the Data & Analytics Chapter, part of Integrated Informatics at Roche. We build excellence and mastery in next generation data and analytics capabilities, including but not limited to Data Science, Data Engineering, Analytics and Data Management & Governance. We release value from data - all the way from Discovery to Insights.
In addition to partnering with teams across the business to develop solutions, scale and automate data pipelines, Data & Analytics Chapter members are uniquely placed to connect the dots across initiatives, promote information sharing across domains and recommend re-use of data, analytics and solutions wherever possible.
The Position:
We are looking for an Information & Data Architect who will join us in the newly setup Integrated Informatics for a journey to drive and promote efficient and effective information management throughout the organization.
As an Information & Data Architect, you will play an essential role in driving Information and data architecture further in Roche. The expert must be the big-picture thinker who understands the value of data to the organization , has a strong focus on delivering high value, connecting the dots, investing in right initiatives with reusability at the heart of it.
Working with the business and our colleagues from other IT functions in the solution design, focusing on data governance and information management aspects, you will ensure that data is managed as an asset and re-used wherever possible.
Your primary responsibilities are:
Drive the IA Strategy, Framework, landscape and tools together with functional Information Architects
Working with Business and IT partners on Information Requirements as part of projects focusing on areas with unmet Information Architecture needs, seeking strong collaboration with IT Partners which have respective capabilities
Consult and advise the business with regard to data management topics
Identifying information elements, which require standardization and apply best practices to define necessary governance and support successful operations, leveraging Roche standards.
Define roadmap to transform data architecture focusing on scalability, performance and flexibility throughout the entire data life cycle (ingestion, storage and consumption).
Maintain data architecture framework, standards and principles including modeling, metadata, security, master and reference data
Oversees information engineering and corresponding data architecture to effectively and efficiently deliver information to enable all business needs through systems, databases, applications, and other technologies.
Translates logical data models into physical ones and supports their implementation by providing specific technical requirements to the Analytics Engineering team.
The Architect is key in driving digital transformation for Roche and its affiliates.
Who you are:
Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field.
8+ years experience in information technology /business system analysis, information design, resulting in a deep understanding of business processes and related information management, ideally in different parts of an organization
Good understanding of Information Architecture concepts like Process and Information Modeling, Information flows and Data Governance principles; Metadata management
Proven experience as a Data Architect with a strong track record in data architecture and management.
Experienced in designing conceptual, logical, and physical data models
In-depth knowledge of data platforms, database design, data modeling, and data warehousing concepts.
Proficiency in Snowflake, Tableau, Self-Service BI.
Strong understanding of data security, compliance, and data governance principles.
Ability to work in complex, matrix environments doing hands-on work as the situation requires
Strong consultancy and analytical skills, ability to learn new processes and concepts and understand the technical constraints of possible solutions
Be an excellent communicator and collaborator, engaging with multiple technical and business stakeholders and leaders on all levels, transforming complexity into suitable structures
Exhibits an Agile mindset, i.e. Good enough instead of perfection and Focus on \xe2\x80\x9cReuse before Buy before Make\xe2\x80\x9d when providing direction on future solutions
Domain knowledge in pharmaceutical industry and commercial domain is an added advantage
Fluent english language skills and experience working in a multinational environment
