The Interior Design Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, reviewing, and implementing all interior design and fit-out works within construction projects. This role bridges communication between designers, consultants, and site teams to ensure design intent is executed accurately, on schedule, and within budget -- maintaining the highest quality and aesthetic standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Design Coordination
Coordinate interior design activities between architects, consultants, and site teams.
Review and verify design drawings, shop drawings, and material submissions for accuracy and compliance with specifications.
Ensure design details are properly integrated with architectural, structural, and M&E works.
Identify design discrepancies and propose practical solutions to resolve them.
Liaise with clients, consultants, and suppliers to ensure design intent and requirements are met.
2. Project & Site Implementation
Oversee and coordinate interior fit-out works to ensure alignment with project timelines.
Supervise installation of finishes, joinery, furniture, and decorative elements.
Conduct site inspections to monitor quality, workmanship, and adherence to design.
Coordinate with subcontractors for smooth workflow and site readiness.
3. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare and maintain design coordination reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
Manage submission schedules for drawings, samples, and mock-ups.
Track and update design changes and approvals from consultants and clients.
4. Material & Sample Management
Coordinate selection and approval of interior materials, finishes, and color schemes.
Organize sample boards and mock-ups for client or consultant approval.
Work closely with procurement teams and vendors to ensure timely delivery of approved materials.
5. Quality, Cost & Compliance
Ensure interior works comply with design specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Support the project team in value engineering and cost control related to finishes and materials.
Maintain compliance with safety and quality management systems on-site.
Requirements:
Qualification:
Diploma or Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Experience:
Minimum 1-10 years of experience in interior design coordination within construction or design & build projects.
Experience in residential, commercial, or hospitality projects is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong knowledge of interior design detailing, materials, and finishes.
Proficient in AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar design software.
Excellent coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong eye for design quality and attention to detail.
Able to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks.

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
